Only one side of radiator has water?

Double panel radiators normally have a bleed nipple for each panel since they are connected together at the bottom only by the entry and exit pipe assemblies so each panel has to be bled separately. If your radiator is not like this then there must be a connection at the top which has become...

How do you remove the sensor from an old style Danfoss thermostatic radiator valve. I have undone the grubbscrew (alankey) but the sensor will not come off although it does now move about 4mm.

    Bosch jigsaw blades

Apart from a higher retail price and some black paint, does anyone know what the difference is between types T101B and T111C? Same question applies to T101D and T144D. Anyone know of an onsite listing which descibes the specifications and possible uses of Bosch jigsaw blades?

    Central Heating Air locks

I can see what you mean, but I have come cross a couple systems that have done this missing out the last rad people had in their new extensions. The problem was solved by changing a 15:50 to a 15:60. I think it is the way the systems are piped especially if the new pipework is microbore...

    Burning smell from boiler

You can run the boiler safetly this drip is mains cold water. If you have no problems with overheating with ch on then it will be ok to use it. The prv turns anti clockwise (it only goes one way) and makes loud clonk when it seats again properl, it is spring loaded. By the way these valves...

    gas boiler wont fire

If memory seves me correctly the flow switch in the mynute is a rubber diaphram. The diaphram must be torn and not moving the pin to make the micro switch. If you drained the boiler to change the washers it probably happenrd then because ir was disturbed. It was probably on it's last legs...

    draining air from ch system

You don't need to drain the system to air it! At the end of each rad you will find a square headed screw, using an airing key (B&Q if you don't have one) slacken each screw and you will hear a hissing sound as the air escapes do this untill you get water. Do this to each rad in turn. Before...

    New Pump????

If this radiator has a thermostat on it it could the the valve chattering. The valve trying to shut against the force of the pump can cause this. The control you mentioned is the thermostat if turn it to around half to 3/4 that will do you for heating your rads. Don't let the guy change...

    Burning smell from boiler

The leak you describe is from the gland that seals the pin that makes the hot water flow switch. This part is only a few quid. Turn your not water tap on and off the pin should respond very quickly if not then the gland I spoke of comes in kit with a new diaphram and will probably need a change...

    Communal Gas Heating System

Check with the people you pay this money to. If the hot water is communal also then it will be from large unvented cylinders in the boiler house. What's the pressure in the hot water like compared to the cold if it's not to far away then it should be ok. Deffinatly check with those people...

    Burning smell from boiler

Give the press relief valve a few twists, it will make a clicking noise everytime. If this won't work try opening and letting water run past it a few times to clear any dirt. You will need to re-pressurise. To air the boiler turn the stats off and switch the ch on to run the pump, you will...
