Tumble dryer using same socket as boiler?

I'm looking at putting my condensing tumble dryer in the airing cupboard with the gas combi boiler. The plug socket the boiler uses is on a different circuit to the main sockets and is connected to a 16A MCB where as the sockets are connected to a 32A MCB. Will it be ok for me to use the boiler...

Condensing tumble dryer in airing cupboard with boiler?

Thanks all. I'll have a look into fitting some ventilation. With the plug socket though is it ok to use the same one the boiler is using? I believe it's connected to a 16A MCB where as the sockets are connected to a 32A MCB.

Condensing tumble dryer in airing cupboard with boiler?

I've got a combi boiler (Glow Worm 24ci) in an airing cupboard which is about 1.3m long and 90cm wide with no ventilation. I was just wondering if it would be ok to put a condensing tumble dryer in there too or could that cause the boiler to overheat? If it is ok there is a plug socket in...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

Before i go about calling an engineer out can someone please confirm that the screws in the pictures are the ones that hold the heat exchanger in place? I don't want to make a fool of myself calling someone out when I'm unscrewing the wrong screw. :) Also to stop the heat exchanger getting...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

I had a go at seeing if i could move the screw and instead of using a Torx screwdriver in the inner part of the screw i used a flat headed one on the outer part of the screw. This allowed me to move the screw fine. I only turned the screw a quater of a turn though. This however has left me...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

If anyone could give me a rough idea of how much it would cost to do that work it'll be much appreciated. So far i've been given a quote of £2K for a new condensing Vaillant ecoTEC plus 831 boiler. If the repair is likely to be much over the £300 mark i'd rather go with that. BTW if i was...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

Thanks Dave. If it was a case of the hydroblock needing to be replaced as well as the heat exchanger at a rough guest how much would you think that would cost including labour? BTW i was on the priority response service so the boilder replacement wasn't included in that.

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

Thanks for the info Agile. I take it this is something any engineer should be able to do? If anyone here is near my location that's available to do the work i'd be interested about that too. I live in Witham which between Chelmsford and Colchester. I've uploaded the pictures to...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

There's a clause in the contract that says if the cost to repair exceeds the value of the boiler then they have a right to terminate the contract. To be fair though BG replaced the filter, fitted a flow restrictor and was about to replace the Heat Exchanger before the screw issue stopped him...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

I'll see if i can get a photo of the screw tomorrow. The BG engineer basically said that for the price i paid (my monthly £2 subscription and a fixed £99 call out charge) they were not willing to strip the boiler down and it would probably make more sense to replace the boiler. With the GW...

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

Not sure. Apparently it goes into a plastic block that all other components are attached too. Hmm, not sure what you're getting at but please only post if you have something useful to add.

Glow Worm 24ci boiler - hot water problem and damaged screw

We've recently moved into a new house and found out that there is a problem with the boiler in that unless we have the hot water running at quite a low level the water end up pratically cold. This ends up meaning that it takes us about 20 mins to run a bath. We had a British Gas (BG)...
