Thx for response 75pete - vent pipe is 1 metre above water tank level. If raise tank then this measurement will reduce. Any thoughts on what sediment is in the tank?

Will do the test when the system starts up next. The arrow points horizontally into the radiator. So I presume the heated water should enter the radiator from the TRV. If it is on the wrong side could this be a problem - ie could this be a reason for air getting in ?

The TRV is a ten year old MYSON . It does have an arrow on the front presumably indicating flow.
