Poorly acer

Can anyone explain why this acer is looking so poorly. It was repotted a couple of weeks ago into a larger container as it was becoming root bound. It is loosing leaves on a daily basis. It has been watered - not over watered - on a regular basis. I have 2 other plants that have been cared for in exactly the same way and they are flourishing

What compost/medium did you re-pot the acer in?

we used eracaceous soil and later that day added some powdered iron tonic
