    Water Softener

Yes previous ower had harvey's. He showed me where to connect and turn on the diverted water (and torn off the direct flow which he left running after reoval) but never mentioned the discharege pipe. Do all softeners have/need this? If I decide to go with a different make? I'm still reading up...

    Water Softener

Moving into new house and the previous owner removed the water softener. I've worked out which pipes are softened water and which bypass the softener,so just need to buy/fit a softener. There are clear pipe fittings to divert the relevat water thrugh rh softener as per the photos, but what the...

    pyronix manual and Qs

Thanks but I stilldon't know if chaning the code will invalidate the tags. If the previous house owner (or their cleaner or drug-addicted teenage offspring) have kept a tag, I have no way of knowing what level of authority that tag was assigned or whether it will still function.

    humidity sensor extractor fan

So two electricians have given opinions (but not quotes) over the phone. One said he wouldn't recommend it for an ensuite because of the noise. The other implied high cost as it would require extra wiring and dedicated RCD. Really? Isn't the sensor and/or time delay built into the fan? soas...

    pyronix manual and Qs

Thanks. Well as wellas changing the code I'd like to know what that does to the tags (if anything). Do they still work or do they need programmeimg in some way with the new code? Limited use changing the code if someone already has a working tag that continues to work....

    pyronix manual and Qs

the 46 V10 yes, not the 46s. They don't look the same but maybe the user instructions are the same? This is the pyronix page for 'arming devices' for the 46s https://www.support.pyronix.com/uk/product/euro-lcd-keypads and only shows the installation guide.

    pyronix manual and Qs

It looks like the 46s so thanks for IDing that. I've searched for user manual online, both the Pyronix website and 3rd party manual sites. Can find the 'installation manual' but not the user manual. Anyone have it or know where to find?

    garage used for storage

More or less decised on carpet tiles. Are they easy to lay? carpet fitter wanted silly money! Glue down? With what? And do they 'lock' in to each other or just lay side by side?

    pyronix manual and Qs

Just moved in and there's a existing alarm - I think Pyronix though no manufacturer name on the unit. Seller left me some tags, which work to turn it on/off, together with a note of the code and installer code. I have no wifi yet, so should it still set off the external alarm? If I want to...

    humidity sensor extractor fan

Currently there's a ceilimg mounted extractor fan in the bathroom. Basic extractor with an on/off switch outside the door. When you leave you switch it off and it turns off - imediately. Leave it running and you might forget and leave it on all night. I considered a time-delay so it runs for 5...

Many thanks all for the explanations and sugestions. Just to update: * as suspected, my informaion about normal TV not being available came from the previous owners * streetview shows a number of houses in the estate have standard-looking ariels. However, they are all raised up very high on...

    garage used for storage

I have a garage used only for storage and washing machine. Rough concrete floor. I want to lay something cheap on the concrete so I can at least sweep of mop it periodically (and go in without putting on outdoor shoes!). Local carpet shop quoted £350+ for vinel. Any cheaper options?

new home. Need to identify TV aerial sockets

side of the TV photos. Yes, the cables from the wall definitely lead up to the sat dish, but what do I plug them into? And why two sockets? Could the sat dish D plugs be meant to connect into the sockets in the wall and then other sockets (there are several around the house) get free sat like...
