    what paint

I am so sorry. I am not sure. The other doors look dark and oily, may be they are the stain/varnish. Those doors are very old. I was told by a carpenter I should use some sort of paint repeatedly to achieve that colour.

I have just changed an internal door frame. It is bare wood. I have to match it with other internal doors which is dark oak oily colour. What should I do? By 2 step, dye+finishing oil(colourless) or 1 step, non-drop gloss/wood primer/satin? I am new to do this. Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thank you. I quoted the cost of replace with mdpe, it is above £1000 by using the moling technique. I will do it in the future. At this moment, I have to keep the steel pipe for a while. Anti-rust paint or tape to wrap it? Or something else?

steel pipe for main water supply rusted

I had a burst pipe between the external stopcock and internal stopcock. It was about 0.5m underground. The pipe was steel and rusted heavily. So I have to dig it out in order to replace it. I found the other part of the steel pipe is rusted too, but usable. I have to keep this usable part...

How to connect the copper pipe with lead pipe

Thank you for your comment. If I understand you correctly, some "plumber"s with trade licence are not qualified to do the main water connection. Does that mean the plumber service sector is in a mess. Any one who does not qualified can be a so-called plumber? For Level 2 certificate and...

sheet lead roof stolen, looking for alternative replacement

I do not think it is racist. The reason I think it is not from local people because local British can get generous benefit and unlikely to be bothered for a few pounds by paying big effort to steal the lead. It is hard job for those thieves. They have to drive around, use hand saw to cut...

sheet lead roof stolen, looking for alternative replacement

I guess it was from non-local thieves. British get generous benefit. They do not bothered with a few pounds by paying big labour effort of cutting lead tubes, taking heavy sheet lead. Lead is sold at about 1USD/per pound. I never thought people can make big profit from that.
