    False alarms

I have a Veritas Alarm System which over the past 18 months has gone off for no apparant reason when not set, tamper red light comes on. It has just happened and it seems it is triggered by either a very, very brief powercut or spike, because today my computer was reset and the oven timer now...

    Papering Bathroom?

Have a small bathroom where the previous paint has flaked. I have scraped off all flaking paint, what would be the best sealer? As the wall is now very patchy could I paper with a textured wall paper? Filling the patches is not really an option as there are so many and some are large...

We have bought a new head which has come with a restrictor [hence my original question], I assume then that it is safe to fit the head but leave out the restrictor. Thanks.

    Condensation on Inside of Loft.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, my appologies if not. Went up into my loft yesterday because we seem to have a mouse scratching around up there, and found that there was condensation on the inside of the roofing felt. Is this normal. The condensation was along...

    Radon protection.

Advice I have received by someone who knows about these thing is as follows; If you are both non-smokers the risks of radon affecting you (killing you) before you die of something else are probably very small indeed. Maybe 1% If the house you buy is one of the few that are quite badly...

    Radon protection.

Thanks for replies. According to the local Building Control, protection has been provided at the build stage to the bungalow in 1999, therefore have no concerns there. On reflection think one idea is to have an insulated shed, standing off the ground on bricks [free flowing air...
