Sorry if this is a silly question, but is it safe to fit a flow restrictor to a power shower.

Thanks

why would you do that

I thought the whole purpose of a powershower is to get more waterpressure

Because my wife finds that it is too powerful.

We did not have it installed ourselves we inherited the system when moving to this house in Septembe last.

Therefore is it safe to fit a restrictor.

Thanks.

We have bought a new head which has come with a restrictor [hence my original question], I assume then that it is safe to fit the head but leave out the restrictor.

Thanks.

There are different kinds of shower pumps. The cheapest might not switch on if the initial flow is inadequate (e.g. less than 1 litre/min).
