Can crimps be used in a similar way to where a junction boxe would be used. eg taking a radial off a ring when there is no suitable socket outlet close enough, by using yellow crimps?

    Part P Help

Just a question. If the the plans were submitted to BC and aprooved before 1 Jan 05 and the wiring only involved an extension or new build, presumably as long as the work was done in accordance with the 16th ed Part P would not be an issue?

    Pain or Urban Myth?

Not quite right our electric fence with nothing connected can generate 8.5kV although when the fences are connected this can drop a tad due to nettles etc toughing the wire and shorting it although after a while they do die. Any way back to my point. I'm quite happy to set up a test at various...

    Floor level on extension build

I can't see why a beam & block floor could not be used with 50mm Kingspan/Celotex (or what ever thickness BC require) and a floating chipboard floor laid on top. Follow link for description. http://www.bison.co.uk/default.aspx?id=43

    correct sand for external render???

Just a point, although I do agree with oilman and do use hydraulic lime I think Fredies point about cost is wrong 25kg OPC £2.35/bag 25kg NHL3.5 £9.85/bag If you want to do the job properly it's going to cost more thats why cement is so commonly used in the wrong place. I...

    Chopping in back boxes ...

How about an angle grinder with a diamond blade followed by a SDS drill with a chisel bit. Plenty of dust but if replastering is on the cards if you make the cuts deep enough you can get nice square corners. About 5 mins for a box in blocks dont know about brick. Just make sure you carry the...

    Hole in rear diff

I have just spotted an oil leak form the back of the rear diff on my Landrover 90. It is above the filler hole so I suspect it is oil leaking out as it is being thrown around whilst moving or draining down when stationary. The casing sounds a bit thin when tapped. Can I weld a patch if I can...
