    Blade runner

Now being the sort of chap that likes gadgets I've been giving this little fella a go. Well i'm converted, it makes cutting plasterboard so much easier especially when I'm having to take sections out of a board to fit round door and window frames. Not exactly as cheap as a stanley knife but it...

    Is there a leak?

Well the leak has finally been sorted. It was in the pipe leading upto the house from the outside stopcock. Just had a new 25mm supply pipe run into the house and plumbed into the house feed. Yay! no more constant hissing from the pipes. Only problem now is I'm so used to it hissing I probably...

    Issues with workmen [Building]

I'm assuming that it isn't a supporting wall and it's brick/block construction. Please tell me they have put a lintel above the door frame to support the brickwork above! Also I hope they haven't been paid yet as you may have to get a proper builder in to rectify their mess.

15mm plastic heating pipes behind skirting ??

Might be of interest to you go on bbc iplayer and watch dragons den episode 7. There's a bloke on there that manufactures this stuff. Might not be exactly what you want but it'll be good for some ideas. His is actually inside the skirting so no need to chase back the walls.

Nissan Micra - where is keyhole?

If it's the model I'm thinking off then there should be a white strip in the middle of the rotary switch where conventional ignition keys go. Just pull the white strip off and insert the key.

    Is there a leak?

It does have an isolation valve on it so I'm assuming once it's at the right pressure it gets left in the off position. Any idea what the pressure should be roughly?

    Is there a leak?

Kitchen is at the side of the house but seeing as all the neighbours main stopcocks are at the front You will probably be right and it runs through the house to the front before it exits etc.

    Is there a leak?

Looks like I'll have to remove the concrete bit by bit to find out where it goes. Tried digging a hole at side of house exactly where stopcock is in kitchen and got down a meter and still couldn't find where it went in. Didn't want to dig too big of a hole incase I caused some damage etc.

    Is there a leak?

Pipes is copper where it comes up from the floor to the stopcock. Stopcock is brass by the way. All downstairs floors are concrete with about three layers of vinyl/vinyl tiles on top stuck down with glue (bloody lazy council sods!) The noise on the street side of the stopcock is roughly...

    Is there a leak?

Noise on street side of the stopcock is still there. Floor is concrete and the pipe is copper.

    Is there a leak?

All cold feeds are direct mains fed. The hot water is fed from a tank in the attic which I have isolated. The main in is 15mm before and after the stopcock where there is a T off to the kitchen sink, then it goes straight upstairs where there is a T off for the bathroom, one for the central...

    Is there a leak?

Will have to give that a go as it would make system maintenance and repair easy if there was an isolator upstairs I suppose. I've just used my mechanics stethoscope on the pipes and with the water switched off at the internal stopcock the noise in the kitchen pipes is virtually nil but...
