    Lacquer flaking off

Could be a few reasons. Leaving too long between applying the basecoat and the clear...normally you have a 24 hour maximum window with solvent based paint, or not leaving enough time or just poor quality materials....it may have been done with an aerosol ! Also, smart repairers often work...

    Lacquer flaking off

Burnerman,20 years in the trade tells me it doesnt . Hit it with an airline at high pressure and if it all comes off fine but you've still got to flat the panel and repaint. If it doesn't blow off under pressure it will be sound enought to feather in and primer

    Plaster onto wooden lintel?

I'm just about to have this done. Over 1 window I was able to use plasterboard but the other, main window, I don't have the depth. My plasterer is suggesting a few layers of scrim over the timber lintel. Don't know wether this is going to work but he is an experienced plaster...he's 64 !

    Air Tools

In my experience you're often just as well buying the cheaper stuff like Clarke because it comes with a 12 month guarantee so if it fails after that you haven't lost much As an example the worst DA sander I ever bought in 20 odd years of trading was also the dearest,a Snap-on.I have 2 Clarke...

Just been trying to square up a frame I'm making for some sliding doors and I've just discovered my sprit level is not true. One way the timber is perfect but spin the level around 180' and it's out. I can't believe it,no wonder I've been having problems :x It's a 3ft Blackspur. I need...

    K1 versus K2 versus P+

Looking to change a couple of single panel radiators and trying to work out what size to go for Would I be near the mark in thinking a K2 rad that is half the size of a K1 ( in terms of surface area) would give out a similar amount of heat and a P+ slightly less ?

    Insulating between floors

I will soon be renovating a bedroom from top to bottom and was wondering if there would be much benefit in insulating the living room ceiling void whilst I have the floorboards up above. I'm thinking in terms of savings on heat loss into what is a rarely used room...except for sleeping :D
