    tanking, plasterboard, aquapanel?

Hmm, interesting what you say about using slate. I came to think about it purely because I like natural stone. I used travertine in my last bathroom project and it looked great. In this bathroom I am only tiling the shower enclosure, and just liked the look of the rustic, multi-coloured slate...

ok to use these slate tiles on the wall?

thanks Jason it is in a 'new build' if you like. (see my other post above this one). One wall is going to be a stud wall, one wall is an external wall which will be sand/cemented then plastered. I would guess they would be 12mm thickness, but would check. In you opinion would plasterboard...

    tanking, plasterboard, aquapanel?

well i've done more reading and come to the conclusion to plasterboard the stud wall then tank that plus tank where the shower sits against the cemented/plastered wall too. If someone could confirm this it's be great. ta.

    tanking, plasterboard, aquapanel?

this is the rough plan of a new bathroom I am fitting. As you can see two walls are external and will be sand/cemented then plastered. The two internal walls were going to be stud walls with plasterboard. What I'd like to know is what product to use on each wall. The large rectangle is he...

ok to use these slate tiles on the wall?

is it ok to use these? a lot of slate tiles are listed only as floor tiles, so just wondering if it's ok to use these on a wall? They will be in a bathroom in a shower enclosure. http://www.simplystonedirect.co.uk/stone/products/details.asp?qcode=SSD1000

    Iroko appeal!

Hmm, didn't know this was an option. How much would I be looking at for this (ball park figure). This is the 'hole' I need to cover (far right corner). Ignore the crap piled on top!

    Iroko appeal!

I need a small amount of iroko kitchen worktop. 650mm width x 40mm depth. Max 1m length (this would easily be enought). I need to box in my boiler and didn't have enough from the worktop that I bought. Does anyone have any offcuts I can buy, or failing that, where is the cheapest place I...

    Tile up? Or tile down?

used the wet saw in the end. I have a fairly big tile cutter (can't vouch for it's quality!) and it snapped them nice and straight, but left chipping to the finish of the tile. Also have stacked the tiles as apposed to brick them, is going fine so far. Fingers crossed.

bath and shower tap plumbing question

think i may have found a better solution. I was thinking about the fixed shower, and I don't think it does need a diverting valve... as long as it has a hot and cold feed, I think it'll operate like a mixer tap, ie, 'pull up' the controller to turn it on and 'twist' for temperature. Not as a...

bath and shower tap plumbing question

Sorry, 'side' was probably the wrong terminololgy. I mean the top, on the edge. Ok, are diverter valves easy enough to find? I might try and find a set of bath taps that incorporate the valve. Would I need two valves, one to divert to the fixed shower and one to the handheld shower?
