    painting over leak

Andy's advice will work in my opinion, but for the odd time that it keeps burning through, you can use an owatral solution mixed into the paint.

Hi Gloss Mirror Finish Black paint

You don't really need to spray. If you get kitchen cupboard paint(or MDF primer and finish all in one) in B&Q it can leave a smooth finish that looks sprayed. It can be applied with a roller or a brush. No brush marks will remain once it's done.

    paint peeling off in en-suite

Might be a silly question, but did you let the plaster dry out before painting? This is sometimes forgotten about too. But I'd say a mist coat primer would be the culprit alright.

    Previously partially painted ceiling

Yep, it's the only way really. Take a decorators knife to anything that is thick and scrape it back, then sand down the rest once that is done. It may need a skim fill afterwards, which is easy enough but a bit annoying, but if you're lucky, it won't. Then, just paint the ceiling.

    power supply for tablet

Some USB cables are not as good as others. Try another USB cable in the USB plug. Case in point, my Garmin Sat Nav won't charge with one of my USB cables but it charges perfectly with a different one. Both USB cables are in working order.

    Computer freezing

Try Malwarebytes also. System restore is also an option and restore to a time before it started acting up.

Car seems to be leaking oil.

Thanks John. I think this is good news. :) So do you think it is possible for the dipstick to be the culprit as so far I haven't found any other evidence. I have managed to keep it locked in place with some dodgy DIY and I'm satisfied that it will stay in place now. :) Next thing now is the Oil...

    Hotpoint Slimline dishwasher short circuit

Hahaha!!! :D Thanks again John! :) I'm having the type of day that I feel motivated to get answers and get my hands dirty with fixing stuff! Car, Dishwasher, and also managing to spray the garden with an eco friendly mixture to keep spiders out of the house and the garden. There are some nasty...

    Hotpoint Slimline dishwasher short circuit

My dishwasher has started shorting out. Basically, it has been showing a leak warning sign for a long time, but the floor underneath and behind hasn't been wet and so I assumed that maybe it's a false report. However, recently, the machine shorted out and tripped a switch in the fusebox...

Car seems to be leaking oil.

Ok so, if I can find out which grade of oil is best for my car, I'll do the oil change and use the recommended grade. I guess using 15W40 instead of 10W40 must make some difference, but I also found something else today. I noticed that the clip for holding the dipstick tightly in place is...

Car seems to be leaking oil.

One other thing, when I changed the oil last time, I put 15W40 in, as that was recommended for cars built after 1998, however, doing my research online today, 10W40 is recommended for my car even though its a 2001 car. I'm thinking that would make a difference, right?

    Thanks John. I'll do that.

Car seems to be leaking oil.

The oil isn't very long in but it is probably due a change nonetheless. Thanks Mursal. I will change the oil this week also. :)

Car seems to be leaking oil.

Here are the pics I took earlier today, when I first started to get concerned. On inspection of these pics, the oil on the floor of the car looks like it might be recent and heavy enough?

Car seems to be leaking oil.

Thanks John. I did take some pictures earlier today and maybe, if they're ok I'll get them up here. But I'm not sure that it'll be helpful yet before I get some cleaning done. But something might jump out, so we'll see. :)

Car seems to be leaking oil.

Thanks John. I suppose I have done around 1,000 miles in the past month. Is that excessive? :? I will certainly check the leak out. Thanks again.

Car seems to be leaking oil.

Thanks John. :D I wonder is it very bad to need to add a 1/2 litre every month. Sounds like a lot. I understand that some older cars do leak some oil but I don't know.....does this seem like a lot to be leaking per month? If it is just a small, slow leak, then I suppose I can just take it...

Car seems to be leaking oil.

I've had to add 1/2 litre of oil to my car twice in the last 6 weeks. I have checked for blue/white smoke and for creamy residue and I'm not getting that at all. But today I noticed some wet oil around the entrance of the dip stick. There seems to be a splash of oil down the side of the engine...

Caps lock blinks on startup with HP Compaq 6735S notebook

Thanks for the replies. I took the whole laptop apart yesterday, and I mean completely. Then I tool my Dyson Vacuum cleaner to the motherboard and fan. No, really. Put it back together again, and it not only runs well now without crashing out, but it runs very quietly also. :)...

Caps lock blinks on startup with HP Compaq 6735S notebook

In my own case, HP have a list of startup blink error reports, and 1 blink has been mentioned as CPU failure, but as far as I can tell, that is only when the machine won't boot. My machine boots up 99.9% of the time. Just tried a hard reset to see if it makes any difference. So, then...
