Yes that maybe true but I need the chuck replaced on this rather than bin it.

Keyless Chuck or Keyed Chuck for Percussion Drill

The chuck on my dewalt Percussion has had it after 13 months with very little use. I have always had problems trying to tighten the chuck because the chuck key doesn't meet the teeth of the chuck very well. Because of this the inside 3 bit clamps have wore away due the drill bits slipping...

    Agriculture Shed Lights

I am deciding on the size of flex cable to use when running from conduit box to each of the fluorescent lights. The cable run in the existing conduit is 1.5mm2 so I was wondering if I should keep to 1.5mm2 flex or can I use maybe 1mm2 flex. The circuit is already on a 6a MCB. I had heard...

    Agriculture Shed Lights

I never thought about the bright white lights annoying the cows and tbh, I wouldn't be too happy myself trying to sleep with a bright light on. What I might do is install the flourescents but I might install a SON to have it for the all night use in the shed.

    Agriculture Shed Lights

They are all cattle sheds but one of the lights in each shed needs to be left on all night just to have some sort of light in there but I had thought about using a lower wattage for that job and the other lights to be used for an hour or so at night when doing work in the shed.

    Agriculture Shed Lights

Sheds are over 70ft wide and around are mostly over 20ft from ground to peek. I doubt they would be over 30ft. I was talking to my uncle this morning, and the people wanting him to do the lights are offering deals themselves on lights in part of the electric board. From what he read out to...

    Agriculture Shed Lights

My uncle who farms wants to replace his old BC lights in his large cattle sheds with new waterproof ones that offer good lighting. I had thought about using those 5ft waterproof Fluorescent tubes which the likes of Thorn make but my uncle is being pushed by certain suit wearing people to...

CCTV - IP Cameras - NVR

A family I do IT work for have an IP camera installed outside which is connected to their router for remote viewing. Its connected to the router via homeplugs. Anyhow, they want me to add another IP camera or two to the setup but also they want to be able to record. I had thought of...

    House Voltage Help

The electic boards engineers who came out to fix the fuse claimed it was the damp that caused the fuse to blow. Since its an antique transformer, could there be a chance this damp is causing more problems at the transformer end?

    House Voltage Help

Last week the power in my house had gone and it turned out, the fuse at the outside transformer had blew. Now this morning my LCD stopped working. I was checking cable for power with the multimeter and I am only getting 220v and sometimes it drops to 218-219v. I have checked at the CU and I...

I have actually thought about that and I might go that way.

    WeatherProof CU Suggestions

The building is large open ended and the cu is to be position near the entrance. Because its open ended and especially this time of year, the walls near the entrance are often damp. Also, the odd time, the floor maybe powerwashed out. Just thought, there is no harm in having one when a cu...

    WeatherProof CU Suggestions

Just wondering if anyone here know of any good weatherproof cu's suitable for hager mcb's online if you can. I have used the hager version before but it was abit awkward in terms of the screw caps. (those that have used this cu will understand what I mean). My local supplier only had a small...

    Cable Selection And Connections

Firstly Part P does not apply to me. Here are some photos of the two CU's. The first is at the start of the T&E and I would like to note, I got the 63A RCD mixed with another CU I have at another site. The second CU is at the T&E/SWA joining.

    Cable Selection And Connections

Service Fuse is 100A. I'll check tomorrow but come to think of it, I think the T&E is on a 40A MCB which actually makes sense.

    Cable Selection And Connections

Just to clear things up, I want to T off at the CU that connects the T&E/SWA. At the SWA end of run, output should not be anymore than 3500w used at the one time. Between the existing run and the new run I want to lay, there should never be anymore than 5500w to be safe. Basically the...

    Cable Selection And Connections

I was speaking to a sparky this week and I am still not sure on tackling the situation that I have. Coming from a 100A supply to an outbuilding is around 80m 16mm² with first half being T&E and the other half being SWA which goes to an outbuilding. The two are joined/connected via a CU. The...
