That's fair enough but from a contractors point of view it is an extraneous conductive part. I bond old redundant supply sheaths, even if it's just an inch still popping up above floor level, particularly if in the area of the incoming supply and consumer unit, if it's extraneous, bond it.

Hot water OFF from programmer goes to grey of 3 port and also to terminal 3 of Megaflo thermal controls.

2 port that comes with the Megaflo and a 3 port. There is a wiring diagram with the Megaflo that shows this arrangement.

I'm on a job and have been asked to wire it so the 3 port was not my decision. Just wondering what the 3 terminal on the Megaflo does as obviously with 2 2 ports this is not used.

What does sending 230v to terminal 3 of the Megaflo thermal control panel from DHW off actually do? If call for DHW is satisfied then 230v goes to the 3 port - understood, and the 230v is removed from the 2 port so boiler not on. Can't see what the thermal controls are doing at this stage.

I think using diversity with some judgment and common sense is perfectly acceptable but for ease and simplicity then using In as Ib for a ring or radial circuit with multiple socket outlets is probably the way forward...unless it means you end up having to run a huge cable! I must say that...
