Thanks for the reply. The garage said they checked the cable and it was o.k. According to VW it's a common problem on the polo but they didn't offer a solution. Really helpful !

    vw polo

Got a 2014 polo and the back brakes keep sticking on after I release the handbrake. Had the shoes and drums checked, all ok. The shoes look almost new. Doesn't happen all the time. Usually if it hasn't been used for more than 1 day. Any suggestions ?

    chemical damp proofing

Have just had another look at the pics and I can see where the confusion about the new boards comes from. What you can see is the skirting boards that I removed. As you suggest, am going to hack off the plaster and render, install a chemical DPC, give the wall a chance to dry out before having...

    chemical damp proofing

Pics as requested. The damp rises about 150mm but no higher. The wall was replastered 7 years ago but at that time there was no sign of damp on the wall.First noticed it 2-3 years ago. Wasn't sure it was damp at first, so used stain-blocker on it.

    chemical damp proofing

Thanks again for your replies. Will post some pictures over the weekend. We did have a chemical DPC installed on the external walls about 7 years ago and that did resolve a similar problem we were having on those walls

    Black Mould On Grout

Thanks for you reply. Inadequate ventilation was the original cause. This has now been rectified. The mould always appears in the same places,so I'm guessing that the diluted bleach I'm using is not killing the mould spores. Are there any other products that could be recommended ?
