    Gas Safe- for kitchen fitters.

Thanks sooey, holty, Fair comments, I appreciate that I've probably got a simplified understanding of things that borders on the dangerous, but every time I've called a qualified person in, they've just connected it up in the same way as I would have.

    Gas Safe- for kitchen fitters.

Hi PRS1, I don't resent paying the money, and appreciate the hoops that people have to jump through to become gas safe. I just wish there was a simplified version, for people who just want to connect up a gas hob, or maybe move some gas pipe. I've been cutting, bending, soldering, copper pipe...

    Gas Safe- for kitchen fitters.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I feared that would be the answer. I just hoped there would be an alternative ,to phoning up a plumber who breezes in two days later , does something that I could have done in 2 minutes, and then relieves me of a big wad of cash.

    Gas Safe- for kitchen fitters.

Not sure if this is the right place to post, Basically I've been fitting kitchens and bathrooms for quite some time now, I'm a fairly competent plumber but have no formal qualifications. The sticking point has always been the moving of gas pipes and plumbing of gas hobs, I would like to know if...

    Ikea sink problem

I think master of none's got the right idea. this also eliminates the awful noise you get through the sinks when the w/m d/w pumps out waste water. Crazy Ikeans. And don't get me started on the lack of service gap on the units.

    Ikea sink problem

Hi. I've fitted a few ikea kitchens, and the traps are tricky but they do work. they are telescopic and can be moved about, also you can swap the overflow and w/m inlets around . the waste shouldn't interfere with the water supply pipes, but if they do you could always go for flexies on the...

tile levelling clips. Has anyone used them?

Hi Richard. I've been laying tiles for years, but the more tiles I lay the more critical I become of my own standards. I strive to achieve perfection, but as anyone knows, wanting perfection and achieving it are totally different things. I'm all for new ideas to help create a better finish...

    Copper street elbows ?

I picked up some copper street elbows by mistake, I can't really see any point in them. Does anyone use them, and what are they used for? Cheers. Mark.

tile levelling clips. Has anyone used them?

I've seen on youtube , clips for helping to reduce lipage on large format tiling i.e. Raimondi, tuscan, lash clips etc. They look like a great idea . I wondered if anyone out there had used them, and whether they're as good as they look. Cheers Mark

    Advise Needed - New Bathroom

Realistically. I think 5 days is pushing it. bathrooms are usually small and there's enough room for one person at a time, so it's not as if you can throw a load of labour at the job.

I've never used a hinge jig before. A combination of chisel and router works fine for me. as for routers there are plenty of really good second hand ones about.
