There only has to be a tiny bit of movement between the two walls and a crack will appear, only, it's the worst type of crack because its almost impossible to see, and is a real slow burner, or slow rotter if you like. personally I run a small bead of silicone on every internal angle.

Hi Ab' Unless your plastering a very rough wall you wont need bonding, just two coats of multi finish as suggested above. By the look of your photo you did not apply PVA to the wall first, hence the cracking. I think you'll have to scrape it off and start again. there's tonnes of advise on how...

I've got the fugenboy from screwfix, which is simular to the fugi. In my experience ,I find it excellent, well worth £10, but you still get stepping when used on tiling, and I wouldn't entertain it on mosaics.

Doing such a simple run doesn't prove a thing. I noticed he didn't put spacers between the worktop and the first row of tiles. That could cause problems if there's movement in the worktop. A bit cowboyish really.
