    Potterton Kingfisher RSL100 Lockouts

I have a Potterton Kingfisher RSL100 boiler on a sealed system. Over the last couple of days I am getting lock-out errors. When I reset the system, it can then run again fully through the cycle without issue. At this time of year, I am only using the system for heating water. Around 80%...

    Bewildered by heating control choice

Hi there, I am looking to replace the heating controls for my system as the programmer is very basic and quite old. I would like to control the heating on a weekday /weekend basis (5/2) and maybe have three timed period rather than two. I would also like to replace the room thermo and...

Can I join vent and cold water feed?

I have two Grundfos UPS 15 -60 pumps. I don't have non-return valves and the controller controls the pumps in order to control the CH or HW or both. They run most of the time the heating is timed to come on. Thanks for the help.

Can I join vent and cold water feed?

Thanks. I'm comfortable the system is flowing around well enough and there isn't a blockage or restriction in the cold water feed. If I try joining the vent to the feed, can I do this at the boiler or does it have to be done high - i.e. in the loft? thanks.

Can I join vent and cold water feed?

    Boiler overflowing into Header Tank

Hi there, I have a problem with my heating system overflowing into the header tank which is causing my system to clog up due to oxygenation. I am told this is happening due to a combination of overpumping and resistance caused by sludge build-up in the system. I have been...

Should I buy a new pump?

Sorry - regarding the pumps - I have one for the hot water and another for the central heating (presently). The engineer says this is not necessary - 1 will do? He has also said this is an unusual setup as most homes only have 1 pump. As I've said before he blames the overflow on the...

Should I buy a new pump?

I have two Grundfos UPS 15 -60 pumps on my central heating system. A heating engineer has recommended I remove 1 as my system is "overpumped" and also suggests that I replace the remaining pumps as it's of uncertain age. My system is overflowing into the header tank therefore the water...

Help Central Heating configuration & Powerfush question

Thanks for the above. I have 17 rads and a wife who's worried about the carpets so I would prefer to use a power flusher from the boiler - again if this is simple enough for an amateur? I was looking to have a service contract for my heating system. The company I selected conducted a...

    Live light switch!!

Live light switch!! Hi there, when I touch the screws on the wall light switch cover with an electrical testing screwdriver it shows current. I can touch the screws and can't feel a current but am a bit concerned as I imagine this means the earth has a live current. Is this normal? - I...
