It's a 4 stroke. I think that if I can't get the performance back to how it was a week or so ago (prior to the drive belt shredding) then I'll be taking it to the local scooter garage to have it serviced. Money I can't really afford to spend at the moment though!

Air cleaner removed and made no difference to be honest, I now have other issue(s). The electric starter is going in the right direction etc but isn't engaging. Also, I have managed to knacker up the kick start! So the part should be here tomorrow and then I can get the thing started again...

Hi there, all bits of the shredded belt were removed and the casing was thoroughly cleaned. Even pulling off from a stand still isn't as nippy as it was if that's any more of a clue as to what's going on. Would a carb clean be worth a go?

Thanks for the response. When pulling the brake lever you can see that the cable is trying to pull in the arm thing that it's connected to but the arm looks as though it's struggling to turn the pivot. I need to get it apart really but I can't find my socket set! I have a 23mm wheel brace...

cheers for this. I'll put the cleaner in following your instructions, leave it for a however long, drain down, swap TRV on the rads so that they are ALL on the flow side and then refill with fresh inhibitor. Does that sounds a good plan or should I be doing anything else? Cheers
