    Correct Fitting for Oil Tank

Hi John, Fair play about the stick but with it only being a 1100l tank I want to keep topping it up whilst the price is low. No dipstick in place but I did wonder about the point you indicate. I also have not so much a leak as a tiny weep on the delivery line. again the service guy...

    Air vents for radiators?

Hi. Not been in this property for long but I'm looking to prolong the life of the rads. They look ok but need bleeding fairly frequently (powered by an oil fired system), this maybe because one has been removed (just the regular fittings left - which I may just put another another rad in) but...

    Correct Fitting for Oil Tank

So the guy that comes out looks at my boiler and 'legs it!' -afraid of causing something to leak. So I'm looking at options again but want to fit a level sensor. I can see plenty around but are they all similar or are there any to avoid ? Also can I fit it where this 'dodgy' ventilation cap is...

    Tingle from a lintel!

No that's fine Eric. I wouldn't dream of DIY for any serious electrical issues, I was more curious as to the cause. I'm just trying Sparks now but everyone seems quite busy.

    Picasso C5 - parking brake/flat battery?

So last night; I tried the battery booster and jumping from my wife's car all to no avail. It probably put a bit of juice in it so I then tried putting it on charge overnight. I wasn't expecting much as the charger is archaic and the manual seemed to indicate that the battery needed to be...

    Tingle from a lintel!

Thanks Gents. We are standing on slate tiles which have underfloor heating but that should be switched off. There is a light switch under the door frame and some halogen lights in the ceiling. I do have a copy of the survey. I wonder if its always been like that or just happened? We did have...

    Tingle from a lintel!

Hi, Assuming I need to sort this ASAP but just curious as to why we have just noticed a tingle from the kitchen lintel (i can see a metal edge so assume there's one under there). The property had an electrical inspection about 8 months ago? Cheers ....Chris

Replacing a 2D 16W 4 PIN GEAR TRAY WITH HIGH FREQUENCY BALLAST for an LED

Greetings All, I thought this was going to be easy ! I bought the LED - not realising I need to bypass the ballast. It's not a problem, just no instructions supplied and I can't find a matching wiki on-line. This is what I have and from what I've seen of similar set ups the l and N (as seen...

    Correct Fitting for Oil Tank

Hello, Just looked really hard at this part of the oil tank the other day (as it seemed to have been knocked by the roofers) and I now think this is something the previous owner has 'cobbled' on! Any idea/suggestions as to what should be there? I've been reading about water ingress and...

    Satisfactory Roofing Work ?

Thanks for the reply Boss. 2k (ex vat for the replacement of existing ridge tiles for reclaimed interlocking ones (about 47) and then 'sorting' the stack (which may have stopped the leak) and then to 'sort any potential leaks, i.e. slipped missing tiles. To be fair I've mentioned all this to him...

    Satisfactory Roofing Work ?

Hello, I'm just after a bit of advice here. We had roofers in to replace our ridge tiles and 'sort' the base of the chimney to prevent leaking into the stack and bedroom ceilings. They were also meant to fix any loose or slipped tiles. I don't think they've completed on this last bit...
