Yep thought those figures were right. We are having to have the house re-wired (over 25 years since it was done) but we wanted to keep the light switches and sockets where they are to cut down on the mess !! Is it law then that this has to be aheared too ?? Just a question - what are FCU's ...

Does sound like the point where the charger goes into may be broken and this is not a cheap job. A lot of them have a plastic attachment which when becomes broken snaps off the system board. Now then, cost wise its not cheap but may be worth popping back to where you got it from and explain to...

From what I can gather, you have removed the battery and tried to use it on mains ?? If this didnt work then it may not be the battery ?? When you do this, do you get any light's at all on the laptop ? If not again it could point to a more serious problem with the laptop I am affraid ! Now do...

Try changing them physically in the computer. On the back of a lot of the older ide drives, there are jumpers which let you choose the Master and Slave drive. If it is a newer sata drive then that is down to the system board, but going off the ME and Xp operating system I think they are IDE...

What are the common faults for this then ?? I read it could be faulty sockets ect, so is it just a case of changing them or have I read that the wiring needs stripping back if it has become brittle ? What caused the wire to become brittle ?? Dave
