Thanks for responding noseall. As I have a slab foundation and not brickwork to remove how would be best filling the cavity without risk of damp as using a closer would be difficult as I have no lips of brick to rest this on and that slab is absolutely solid?

Thank you very much for the reply. It's an early 1980's property. The inside floor is above ground level. If I need sloping concrete how would I do this as I need to fill to floor level so flooring can go down? I'm going to insert perimeter insulation aswell.

is this overkill? ie insulation etc? Shoulf i have lined the cement with DPM or does this not matter as its below door DPM? just dont want to create a load of damp and it be trapped under the DPM but is that normal anyway to have tonnes of damp below dpm so long as it's not entering the house?
