    impact driver capability?

Cheers guys. The bench is probably the heaviest thing I will do for a while so hopefully I can now move on to lighter things requiring less umph! Gonna get me an impact driver though. Trouble is, just had my birthday and people got me B&Q vouchers!!! Useless when it comes to buying me an impact...

    impact driver capability?

Hi all. I asked about drill drivers in an earlier post and as yet I havn't made a move to buy one. Today I was putting my workbench together. Simple 4x4 legs and 4x2 frame. Putting the frame into the legs I was piloting and sinking a hole and using 3 1/4" turbo screws with a screwdriver. My arm...

    router question please.

thanks, solo clamps look good for what I'm doing at the moment. So could I do my exposed edges with a 1/4" router?

    router question please.

Hi, at the moment I'm trying to put a work bench together without the aid of a work bench! Just 4x4 legs and 4x2's. So funny you should mention clamps as I need to buy a couple. Firstly to clamp the 4x2's for cutting with the circular. Then for further projects. So any advice you could offer on...

    router question please.

thanks Nick. I've seen a Bosch palm router that looks handy. I don't expect to be doing anything too heavy at this stage. Just decorative things really.

    router question please.

Sorry if this pops up twice but I thought I had posted this earlier but I can't see it now! I am new to woodworking (I've only made a work bench so far!) but I am just getting a couple of power tools together. When it comes to routers will there be any advantages/disadvantages for me if I chose...

    drill guarantee

Hi, I was looking at a drill driver and noticed that the guarantee is 12 months repair only. Is this normal? I thought most guarantees were around 2 or 3 years.

    finish nails?

Thanks John, I've just looked at the wickes site. Are they also called lost head nails? They are nailed so the head is just showing then another nail is used to sink the head into the wood.

    finish nails?

Hi, is there another name for finish nails as I don't seem to see them for sale in many places? I was following instructions for making a unit and the unit can be put together with either 'finish' nails or screws.

    circular saw blades

Hi, when it comes to smooth cuts on wood with a circular saw, does the number of teeth the blade has make a difference?

what to look for in a table saw?

Hi all, is there anything I should look for when buying a table saw? I will be using it for general work making shelving and units. Will £100-150 get me anywhere?

    shed roof question.

Many thanks for that Alastair. I thought that rain water would eventually find its way through where the nails are. With all the different types of felt for sale should I be looking for a certain type?

    shed roof question.

Hi, I moved into our present house a couple of years back and was happy to inherit quite a large breeze block built shed. All was in good condition including the felted roof. But early on this year I thought rain was finding its way through gaps in a window frame. But then another puddle...

    tools for light furniture diy?

I would jump at the Bosch+2 batteries if I could buy over the counter rather than by mail. Good prices.

    tools for light furniture diy?

ntb - the Makita looks a good deal. I can't find much info or reviews other than what's on the Wickes site. max torque of around 30 sounds good for a 10V. I have plenty of hammer choices on my other drills so the hammer option I wouldn't need. Then at 10V I guess it would be very light masonry...

    tools for light furniture diy?

Hi, we have a screwfix close to where I live which would be handy. BUT, the drill drivers they sell are always sold with a couple of high priced, pro use batteries. This puts the drills out of my price range. If they sold diy drills and batteries I'm sure I would go there.
