    Boiler suggestions

Gas. Unbelievable. 3 quotes received. All suggest Vaillant 637 boiler, but diff cylinders. tall 210 litre cylinders to fit in cupboard space. Prices were diff by £4000! I was quite suprised to see such a difference as they all quote same boiler. Can't see a reason not to go with lowest...

    Party Wall question

Architect recommends an agreement with both neighbours on each side. Happy days! Suggests i can do this myself, but i guess this will depend on whether the neighbours want to make demands. Stupid legislation!

    Where is good for sheds?

Planning an extension which will require the existing garage being knocked down. Need a good size shed to accomodate all the usual stuff that goes in the garage (inc petrol mower) so i need a decent size at a sensible price. Any recommendations where to buy. Probably a stupid question but how do you know how deep their foundations are? The gap looks to be near 3m.

    Party Wall question

The old 'what they dont know wont hurt them'. I could really do without any fall out with neighbours. I do not know them and never get too friendly with neighbours. I just don't need added delays and hassel. Will check with architect for his opinion. Mike.

    Party Wall question

Thanks jeds. Why I could not find that info online i'm not sure. Their existing wall is two story so I would have thought that the foundations will need to be at least the same depth. May need an agreement then which is annoying as it will delay things further. Planning permission is in and then...

    Outside tap help please

I am trying to fit a tap to an outside wall. All of the taps that I have seen are angled to take a feed from an internal source, which I appreciate is normal. However, the existing source runs up the wall already from the ground (do not know why, it’s not my house). Are there any external garden...

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will take a sample from the surrounding area and try to get a match. One more stupid question. Is there a specific type of cement that I should use to put the bricks back in or is cement just cement? A link would be nice :)

    Repair brickwork after extractor removed

I am sure this is a simple one for you experts but.... I have repositioned an extractor fan from the hood above my cooker. This now means that I have a hole through to the outside brickwork. What is the best way to fill this hole and what is the best type of cement/plaster product to use...

Flushing toilet makes a loud noise

looks a bit like this- http://www.screwfix.com/prods/52836/Plumbing/Toilet-Fittings/Bottom-Entry-Toilet-Cistern-Ball-Valve If that is the right height then i'm sorted. If not they do an adjustable one :) for £4 i think I'll just get a new valve. credit crunch... whats that?
