Steaming any wall for too long can make the plaster blow What are you going to be doing to the walls after you have fixed them ,are you painting or papering ? I only ask because if you are papering you could save yourself some work and use wickes one coat plaster which is good and flexible and...

I dont do it as rule ,just to cover my own ass really as i dont think my public liability covers me for plumbing and electrical work so if it all goes wrong im stuffed .Have you considered this ? i know its a nice thing to do for customers but unless your qualified to do these things you know...

Dont do it there are easier ways to earn a crust than plastering and if you have any kind of back or knee problems forget it

Did you remove or at least pull the fronts off the sockets ? if you did then there should be no problem ,if not thats what you have to do . Your better off tuning the heating off in the newly plastered rooms . Also when skimming always trowel across and along the ceiling and skirting lines as...

I have troweled up browning before but that was in a very old property and because they wanted it that way but it was being papered you would struggle to get it good enough to paint If it was that easy they wouldnt sell skimming

Shouldnt be a problem as long as its a sound base ,pva it first and then again just before you come to skim it or pva with some sand in it done the day before will also give a key

Dont know about you guys but i hate getting little bits of crap in the mix so dont understand that old guy using dirty water

And ALWAYS use clean water and dont mix it too long as both these things can make the plaster go off quicker and check the date on the bags

Do you use any water when pulling the lines out of the first coat ? as this can help but like people say its just speed . I was always taught that the first coat is just a primer and then the second coat is to fill the imperfections etc i do know some people who take too long on the first coat...

The board needs to be as close a fit to prevent any cracking as you cant plaster thin air ,yes it should be taped but the bigger the gap the more chance of problems "loosing it" means feathering it into the edge and the spread should also be able to do this with the rounded wooden edging if you...

I have always prefered to use sand and cement whenever possible but as said before i use either hardwall or bonding dependant on the circumstances .

I have just had or should i say have this problem ,first i would say look in the FAQ'S and you will see what the pressure vessel is and go from there ,unfortunatley mine seems to be no good so it needs changing but it could be fixed with a bicycle pump if your lucky

Use a hammer and bolster AND SAFETY GLASSES and they should come off ok and then any holes fill with some carlite bonding making sure its not proud of the original surface and when dry retile
