    Converting 4WD to 2WD

Please tell me you're joking ? You'll need to take out the 4wd bits and replace with 2wd bits. Likely to include the gearbox and lots of other things like suspension. It will take you lifetime to recover the cost via lower fuel consumption.

Extension floor - boarded or solid?

We're in the process of having an extension built at the rear of our house. The Building Control surveyor has asked for brick piers to be built on the concrete to support joists.

    Potterton 10/16 concerns !

Worried by this topic http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=138414 My parents have one of these. Approx 12 months ago the Air Pressure Switch was changed by my father due to the boiler not firing. I think he only took the lower panel off, not the white case. However I cannot be sure...

    Real Wood floorign advice

More details . . The house is a 3 bed, halls adjoining semi so the hallway is relatively large. The diagram below shows the whole area to be floored. The front door is at the bottom left. The room to the right is about 12 sq/m, the hallway about 15 sq/m. I expect these are fine to lay...

    Real Wood floorign advice

Good morning We've recently extended our house and are now selecting flooring for downstairs. There is 90 sq/m of open plan floor comprising joists & floorboards. It is all at the same level and the boards are pretty secure. I'm tending towards engineered wood for cost reasons. Is it...

Galiform continued to supply MFI until last year. Galiform kitchens are now only sold ia Howdens and MFI have their own product. They'renot...

    Please Help - Building Extension

Not dealing with them personally but according to my builder the DS wants everything overcompensated and takes his time when requested to come out. Which part of Brent ? I'm in Kenton. We had a cement mixer and seperate truck with a pump parked on the street outside the house. The mixer...

    Please Help - Building Extension

We're having the same thing done at the moment but also with a rear single storey. 1. We had to go 2.1m deep for footings in the corner nearest trees, stepped to 1.8 and then 1.5m. The council will look to cover themselves - ours is Brent. 2. Concrete was delivered and poured in during...

    Kitchen Nightmare

Our old badly installed integrated fridge used to do this. I just ulled the fridge itself forward inside the tower housing. I'm sure it should have been secured but wasn't.

    Diplomat 8322 Experience Required

Not necessarily out of warranty. Diplomat is from either MFI or Howdens Joinery. If new build, then most likely ther builder bought it from HJ. As far as I know the warranty starts from the date you move in, as opposed to when the builder bought it. There should have been some paperwork left...

4100mm x 2100mm Spayed in a RAL colour Solar glass Installed Cost was around £4,700 + VAT (I can't remember the precise figure) Not the cheapest but I compared to a manufacturer we know locally and who couldn't do it for the same price. 1/3 deposit and the balance when completed...

BI Folding Doors - Aluminium or PVC?

I had the same choice to make, for a 4100mm opening too. Went for a RAL coloured aluminium door from framesdirectltd.co.uk 3 opening left with one way with a single opening door the other way. Of all the companies I spoke to, they seemed the most proessional. Re. building regs, a special...
