    Help with banging shower pipes

This is slowly driving me crazy!!!! We live in a 3 story house, with a megaflow tank on the top floor. There is an en-suite on the same floor which has been fine for 8 years but now for some reason makes a banging noise. The noise is coming from around the shower, and starts when the kitchen...

Have the house builders messed up with the CH programmer? + installing Nest 3

Hi All, What a week we've had!! Megaflow sprung a leak (9yrs into a 10yr warranty), boiler pcb failed (£250 from baxi!!) and now the plumber tells me the programmer has died. Thing is, I have a feeling it's not been connected correctly when the house was built. Shouldn't the cable going into...

Can you wire 6mm T&E through a 13A flex outlet to a cook

Two 6mm cables in the back and one at the front. The connectors easily took the two together and I was able to get loads of turns on the screw so they are not going anywhere 8)

Can someone tell me how to fit these lights?

most of your questions have already been answered many times over You need to reroute the original cable because it will be near a wooden beam. Just make sure your lights are at least 100mm away either side from the beams. THEY GET HOT

Can you wire 6mm T&E through a 13A flex outlet to a cook

Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate it. Sorry for not being very clear, basically it was wired like this Consumer Unit > 6mm T&E > MK Double Socket > 6mm T&E > CCU > 6mm T&E > Cooker Because of the double socket having the hob and dryer plugged in the dryer itself would not...

Can someone tell me how to fit these lights?

YOU'VE BEEN TOLD ALREADY! GET AN ELECTRICIAN IN! If you don't know what daisy chaining means then you should not do this job yourself!!!! People ARE helping you and are being the way they are because they don't want you to kill yourself. Do you even know how and where to drill the...

Can you wire 6mm T&E through a 13A flex outlet to a cook

Can someone tell me how to fit these lights?

You have failed at the first step because you seem to want to just wire those cables dangling down to your new lights. This is a fire hazard! You need to pull those cables back to a different location on the ceiling. You do realise how much heat spotlights produce? You are going to end...

Can you wire 6mm T&E through a 13A flex outlet to a cook

6mm t&e coming into the double socket and then going out to feed the cooker outlet. I have removed the double socket and replaced with a single flex outlet and blanking plate. The issue is that because I need to connect two 6mm cables into the flex outlet the holes are not big enough to take...

Can someone tell me how to fit these lights?

Just daisy chain them all. Take the original lights down, pull back the T&E to where you want the first light to go and wire this in. Then wire some extra cable (I use 1mm T&E) from the first light to the second, then from the second to the third and so on. Make sure the lights are well...

Help, no hot water and pressure at zero everyday

Hi, Hope someone can give me a few pointers here. We have had issues with plumbing in this house ever since we moved in. The pressure keeps dropping to zero everyday. I have to keep topping it up but don't know why. I've checked for leaks and can't find any. No air in any radiators...

Help wiring in a new electric oven (inc Pics)

it looks worse than it is. That unit in the first pic has now been removed so the cable has a little more slack. It's drooping under the units so not too bad although I wish I hadn't cut it too short now. That said, you're not supposed to have more than 2m anyway so don't want to run an...

Help wiring in a new electric oven (inc Pics)

Thanks for all the help, got it working :D Silly me measured te cable out but ended up cutting it a little short but it just reached without being overly tight. I had heard that oven cables should not be over 2m in lenght. Well this one is slightly so having it just reach might be for the...
