    Dark wet wall

A lot of rain recently and noticed in the new house we have one wall which is quite dark at the bottom. Can't figure out if this is from splash back (noticed some drips from the facia above) or something else

    Damage above Artex

thanks but already filled the hole using one strike. So easy to manipulate it as very light. So you would opt for toupret over something like Polyfilla to apply to last coat and create pattern?

@Old Salt out of curiosity why is the filler you recommend better than say the everbuild all purpose mixed filler? Double the amount for same price, so just wondering. Thanks

Drayton controls - water ok, but no heating

@Johnmdc - the thermal heat store we have has 3 speed settings on the two pumps. Currently set to level 2. Do you happen to know if lowering to 1 will have a big impact on the system? Says on the label it will use 40w less for level 1 and it's a relatively small house 3 bed with 10 rads.

I'll get on to repairing it then. So remove more of the old filler in that section then use some filler and create similar pattern using just filler? Thanks

    Damage above Artex

Thanks. You think looking at the old plaster theres no real need to go up to the floorboard and check for moisture or would it likely make its way down to the plaster if the leak was still happening?

    Evidence of water leaking?

Hi all Posted in the plastering section but could use some more advice here if possible. New house so lots of DIY. One has been to reseal the shower pan. Previous owner said they had a small leak 5+ years ago which got fixed by homeserve then they had a new bathroom fitted a year later. I...

    Damage above Artex

Okay so pressed around this section to see how it feels. I managed to press some of the it in which isn't a good sign but does show me that the round things in pic are nails. They look to be going into the floorboards. No signs of fresh damp so far but may add this to the plumbing section to...

    Porch roof wet bricks

To be honest I think it's just very strange lighting from the camera. The bricks may have been slightly damp from rain direction but both pictures make it seem like different colour bricks, which isn't the case

    Porch roof wet bricks

Is there anything I could add to the lower section of tiles to stop water running off as quick. A small block of some kind which would help slow it down or possibly route to the middle of the roof rather that wall? I'll be sticking the moss back on at this rate If not, I'll see if it happens a...

    Porch roof wet bricks

Thanks. We've only been here 7 weeks but still strange how only noticed it today as it's rained a lot. I wondered if the moss I removed had somehow been helping collect water lol

    Porch roof wet bricks

Morning, I've noticed this morning wet brickwork outside the front of our house. Seems to be coming from the porch roof. Could be a coincidence but I did clean up a decent amount of moss from the porch tiles on Friday. Any ideas? Got some of the left side as well but not as bad Pics below...

Thanks, we're not too concerned about repairing it, just why it's in that state and should we be worried about potential water damage

Hi All I have a system boiler with heat store (thanks to this forum for telling me that) When the boiler is fired up, after some time we get an annoying vibration/rattle. I've traced this the where the pipes are close to the floor boards in the spare bedroom. The boiler is under this room in...
