    Amitco "wood" strip floor problem

Thanks for the reply. I actually used something called insulating board to reduce sound and it had aluminium foil on one side for fire resistance ( would not bother with that again). It was not feathered. The guys that did the job tried to make a pattern with the strips ( mad!) and when I saw...

    Amitco "wood" strip floor problem

Hi everyone! Problem is - under Amitco "wood" strip floor in one area the join between the plywood underneath - which I think is 9mm thick - is uneven, somehow one sheet of the ply does not have same level as the one next to it or there is a gap between the sheets at the join and it is...

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

I now think the best answer is a wall hung pan!! It can be put at any height I suppose and will look a lot better!

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

Thanks - I really do want to REMOVE the Saniflo! If a steel joist is discovered to be the reason the Saniflo was installed - can a high disabled toilet be used or a raised up toilet bowl so the soil pipe can go above the steel joist? Is the outlet ( P pipe?) in back of the raised disabled...

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

Just to revive this a little - I've been googling and now think the Saniflo may have been installed because there is a joist obstructing the direct flow from the WC to the down pipe which is only about 2 meters away. Originally this old mansion flat problably didn't have loo where saniflo is...

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

Hi Jackson - I DO want to remove it - but was hoping for any technical information about what pipes ( or other plumbing "kit") should be installed that will allow the water and poo to drain away to the exterior pipe without flooding down to other flats when the Saniflo is removed - if you know...

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

Thanks Hugh for the advice - will a 4" soil pipe help with the flow from the WC to the exterior down pipe? I'm not sure why a Saniflo was fitted in the first place!

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

Thanks Dan - but I don't think tenants would like a bucket! Also Council and Managing Agents etc. may not approve - this is central London - not Zimbabwe (where I used to live!).:D

    Can I remover my Saniflo?

Hi everyone! We have a Saniflo for a toilet that has not been used much. It started to smell - a sort of dank water smell that came out into the corridor - but not leak or any other problems, it seems. A plumber was at the property and I told him about it but he said there was nothing wrong (...

How to lower pressure on a Glow-worm Flexicom sx?

I have looked in the Sticky and Search - but cannot find. I accidently increased the pressure by turning on what I think was the water supply to the boiler ( when I was actually trying to find a stop cock). The pressure on the Flexicom sx condensing system boiler went from 1.1 to 2.2 - that...

Help! Where do water proofing and insulation need to go?

Currently having men working on roof - wanting to leave - i.e. paid off! Have searched site and cannot find the answer. They started off putting water proof layer and insulation layer under clay tiles directly. Last night I noticed an area that had not been done at all - just bare roof tiles...

Is my Banham catch lock broken?

On further examination - have now realized a brass lock cover for another lock on outside of door had moved from central position - preventing the door for closing properly!

Is my Banham catch lock broken?

I have just realised the catch on my front door Banham catch lock is not working - that is - when door is pushed shut the catch is not holding the door. I had workmen coming in and out yesterday and overnight shut a bolt on the door. Only this morning now have noticed this problem. Have...

Wobbly mono kitchen sink tap problem

Hi everyone! I have kitchen mono taps that wobble when used. The mono is on a stainless steel sink. Both are Ikea. It has always wobbled but now I want to fix it. The kitchen was professionally fitted and I did not complain about the mono. Looking under the sink - the access to any fittings...

Best way to fill "gap" left in floor after wall ta

Thanks Tickly for the reply - removing the debris revealed a steel beam - not as wide/deep as the gap left by removing wooded beam ( which supported uprights of removed lath and plaster wall). I think any wet filler will stain ceiling below so presume I shall have to use some sort of wood board...

Best way to fill "gap" left in floor after wall ta

Lath and plaster wall was taken down leaving large "beam" in floor which supported the uprights. There are also also some electric cables now at floor level. The "beam" has now been lifted out as was proud of floor which must be carpeted ( mansion flat building). I have a hole in the floor -...
