it looks pretty much the same with 2 wires in the COM hole and one in the no1 hole but it is opposite side up the COM hole is situtated on the bottom where it is on the top on new switch.. it has a yellow and green take that is earth...i just want to check as i dont want to blow the electrics...

i want to change the switches from white to silver but when i took it off it had 3 red wires so not sure what to do next asked my dad but he wasn't sure either do i just put them in the same way...hope this is not a daft question:confused:

hi yes he will be fitting it with brackets which are on the mantel already, it just says on the instructions add liquid nails for extra support if needed so beam sits flush with wall but was wondering to leave the wallpapering or carry on

just a little query i am having a oak mantel put up in a few weeks, and i am wallpapering the wall, do i wait for the man to install it then paper around it ? or can i go ahead and paper, could he could a bit of paper away if need to liquid nails it to wall for added support....

i had and electric fire against the wall which i have just got rid of and had the empty fireplace plastered to fit and electric log fire in, would it be ok to block the flue hole as it has a draught coming down, draught wasn't felt when other fire was there.....

I recently posted about inserting electric fire in hole I have looked an uploaded some pics as to what the space looks like.. I would be greatful for any info on what I would needed eg .plastering....is it a big job? is it straighforward, could the pipe on the right be cut as the fire couldn't...

thanks, i do know before the the electric fire was there, it was a gas fire with a back boiler behind it which got removed when i got new boiler so i no sure what work has been done, so basically i need to get a professional to look at it before i just go ahead and do it .....

i am hanging stripe wallpaper horizontal, one wall .. the wall has boxed in pipes right in the middle the boxing is about 7 inches by 2 inches, would it be wise to try and hang paper in one go straight accross i feel this would be tricky or would it be ok to hang paper to the edge of the pipe...
