Alternative to Baxi Duo Tec 2 for unvented system

Is the extended warranty worth it? Or do I have to jump through hoops to get a successful claim that far down the line?

Alternative to Baxi Duo Tec 2 for unvented system

My favourite would be valiant as I have now but they don't have one that is powerful enough. I'll look into the Baxi platinum.

Alternative to Baxi Duo Tec 2 for unvented system

Hello, I posted a couple of threads on this before and had some help on here. I have now purchased a Unvented water cylinder thats sat in the cellar. It has a high recovery 32kw coil and 400l capacity so shouldn't ever have an issue there. My heating requirements for the house are...

    Vaillant boiler - Online/remote control

I'm pretty sure they don't. But this would do the trick. http://www.salus-tech.com/products/thermostat/it500/ Around £200.

Vailant EcoTEC pro 28 - underfloor heating

Also how do you plan to retrofit it upstairs? I'd look at electric or not bother to be honest.

Please help with boiler/unvented cylinder choice

That seems like a good idea. I wish there were some intelligent controls which would allow you to use a combi in conjunction with a cylinder. I have also though, would I be better using 2 boilers. One in the cellar next to the cylinder, and a second in the utility.

Sorry 1/3 cold water is what was meant.

Please help with boiler/unvented cylinder choice

Hello, Yes, i'd say approx 1/3 hot water. This means around 250 litres approx hot water. It is 2 person. Only normally use for 1 or the kids. It is actually 460 litres to just below the overflow. So you would need approx 400 litres to be full. I don't want to leave the rest of the house...

Please help with boiler/unvented cylinder choice

dcawkwell; I didn't really think about 2 combi's. How would you go about the balancing of them though. Fitment might be an issue though. And still i'd be looking around 24litres per minute hot water even with a fairly large combi.

Please help with boiler/unvented cylinder choice

Hello, I can make that fit and did have that as my first option. However reading the literature it says it only actually stores 120litres of hot water and has a reheat time of 10 minutes. Hence the name 170sxi (I think) as it gives 170litres at 30lpm approx. This certainly wouldn't be...

Please help with boiler/unvented cylinder choice

Hello, I have a 4 bed 2 bathroom house. However have a very large bath, 400litres. And 2 large showers. Only 16 rads, 2 towel rails. Most of the house has aircon which also heats when required (and is arguably more efficient) I have a static pressure of 3.5bar. And a flow rate of around...

ABS stone resin shower tray, cement or something else?

I'll take a pic tomorrow but I think thats the best way anyway to be honest as I don't want any movement. Thanks.

ABS stone resin shower tray, cement or something else?

Hello, I've got an ABS stone resin shower tray. From what I've read about stone resin trays they need to go on cement. However this has about 9 "boss's" to receive legs, and can be raised off the floor. Assuming cement for this is overkill. What would you bed it on? It has "feet" probably...

    Internal insulation

When I did similar I used expanding foam, but I wasn't keeping the beams exposed so it didn't matter if I got it on them. And your right it made a mess. The other option is normal insulation packed in there... But this will make a mess of your arms. How big are the gaps?

Should the UK population be allowed guns if they want them?

What if your moving house? Need a stanley knife to work? Want to dispose of it? Etc etc Adding guns onto our streets would be a bad move. We have lots of issues, I don't think the gun/knife area is policed too badly tbh.

Floor advise, tile over backer or WBP?

Hello, Thanks for your input, what is the reason behind it? The floor at the moment is cold. The floor downstairs is warm. Thats my only reason. Is UFH less effective than it would be over concrete? Or do you mean the tiles aren't as cold? Thanks for your honest advice either way...

Oak door casing attaching door stops?

Thats actually very true. I am by nature a little of a perfectionist, and my eye is always drawn to the bits I'm not happy with. When most others wouldn't even notice it. I'm a keen believer in doing things right from the start, and not been afraid to ask for advice.

    15mm coupler

The threads aren't really designed to seal so I doubt there will be. If there was you'd need a rubber seal or PTFE or some similar sealant. You might find a simple nut or something. What are you trying to do? Surely there is a better way?
