    Replacing Powermax 155

Have got a customer looking to replace a Range Powermax 155 (installed in new build property - 2000) with a Vaillant 37kw combi. It is going to be sited away from where the current unit is (cupboard in the middle of the house), and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the DHW...

    Install Worcester Highflow

Are there 2? 1 for primary h/e & one for thermal store? Its just that I don't fancy lugging it out full of water - its heavy enough as it is! Ta

Sorry also meant to ask: When removing the old one, is it easy to drain the primary H/E and thermal store? Cheers

Difference ILFE + DGF + DFE

Had one today where the double glazing salesman had given the old dear a cast iron guarantee that the closeable, crappy little vents above her 2 week old double glazing were suitable for a 100,000 btu OF Kingfisher, instead of the 2 non-closeable window vents she used to have!

Difference ILFE + DGF + DFE

Like Rob I struggle to differentiate between DFE and ILFE fires as I would never dream of installing a fire and am not interested in fixing them. However Ollski's tip is a handy one for when I do have to work on them - cheers. At the minute I'm contracting to a large utility company (who...

Gas run hard up against wall

Hi all, Have a tricky external gas run to do. 28mm pipe, with about 5 soil stacks to get around or go behind. Was wondering if any of the installers out there have any suggestions for such situations. If the 28mm pipe is clipped with closeable pipe clips then it will not get behind the soil...

    Powermax 155X Servicing.

BG will cover it. Either of them or Heatteam would be fine. I'd probably go with Heatteam simply as their engineers will have more experience of their own boilers...

Ariston Micro Combi 23 MFFI Pressure problem

Look for a small silver flexible pipe on the underside of the boiler. Towards the left near where it meets the wall. It should have two black or blue plastic taps on either side of the flexi-hose, like washing machine isolation valves. If the hose has been removed then there may be a similar...

    new boiler certificates

You'll get a few different opinions on this site about this, but heres my 2p worth: The formerly CORGI person who fitted it should have known that he should NOT have fitted & brought the boiler into operation without having current valid CORGI registration. In the eyes of the law he did wrong...
