    Downstairs WC woes

I would put the Wc the other side under the stairs, if the angled walls now are putting you off, what will it be like when it's done?

    Treated vs tanalised

Hi all. I ordered Tanalised CLS from my local timber supplier and they have delivered treated CLS. This is going to be used for my wooden shed base, is the treated OK? Or should I get them to exchange it? Many thanks

    Soundproofing Floor

My bedroom is above my lounge and whilst I was renovating the lounge and the ceiling was down I fitted the Rockwall Sound Slab. I think it is called R45, it's really easy to fit, like a thick sponge, I just used a bread knife to cut it to size and it friction fits in between the joints. I have...

    Shed cladding

Thanks. Yes the shed will need planning permission, but it's just replacing the old one that caused no planning issues. They are aware of the original shed as I had an extension to the house and building control/planning view the build as it is progressing and it was Ok. If they do complain, I...

    Shed cladding

Thanks. It will be 6inches away from the boundary, replacing the old one and either 8x6 or 8x10. The gravel idea sounds good, I already have a pile unused so will use that

    Shed cladding

I am going to build my own shed, but 2 of the sides are going to be as close as possible to granite/ block built walls that are about 5 ft high. The old B&Q shed was in place for 15 years and it was only the back corner that had started to rot. What would be the best way to finish these 2...

Insulating an Existing Internal Stud Wall

I have used the Rockwall sound slab, it's glass fibre, firm and really easy to fit you can cut it with a bread knife I have used it in 2 ceilings and one sound proofed wall and would use it again. I got mine trade from Magnet and it was about £20 a pack.

Can anyone recommend a good Sliding Shower Door?

I have a Coram Premier quadrant shower doors and I am really pleased with them, they have been fitted for the last 7 years and they still run smoothly. When I was shopping for shower doors I stood in all the enclosures and tested the running of the doors !

    Molded plug to normal one

Thank you Thanks for the tip with the pliers and pins, I was going to get the hammer to it so it wouldn't go in a socket again.

    Molded plug to normal one

Hi, I need to change the molded plug on my DVD player to a regular one so the cable can go through the back of the TV cabinet. I was just about to cut and swap the plugs over when I notice this label on the cable. Am I ok to swap them over like I was going to? I am also going to put the old...

    Bathroom recommendations

My daughter and son in law are in the process of buying a house and the bathroom needs to be replaced straight away. They are on a tight budget but would like similar to what we have at home, Twyfords toilet and sink, Mira shower tray and thermostatic shower and a Coram Premier shower enclosure...

    Old stairs

Hi my stairs are about 140 years old and I have spent the last month or so removing the paint so I can finish them with Osmo Oil. I have noticed that they are not as stable as they could be, they have a slight flex if pulled and the top of the spindles seems to need a bit of new glue or filler...
