I'm fitting a storm channel drain within a trench just in front of my garage but need to confirm what I should be using to fill in the gap between drain and existing paving. I also want to level off a concrete area behind the where the drain will sit that is currently sitting about 15mm lower...

Is it possible to repair a hole in a copper pipe?

Thanks for the advice guys I fixed the problem this evening in about 10 mins. I cut the pipe either side of the hole flush with the joist edges using a loose hacksaw blade. This left a gap of around 70mm and I then fitted a 100mm burst pipe repair coupler from B&Q for £8. Turned on the water and...

Is it possible to repair a hole in a copper pipe?

Thanks. When cutting the pipe is there a specific length needed according to the coupler? In other words if I buy 2 lots of 75mm couplers and a section of copper pipe what length gap should be left to fit them? Also do pipe cutters have the cutting blade dead centre? (this is to estimate where...

Is it possible to repair a hole in a copper pipe?

Right I realise now that cutting out a small section just where the hole is will be difficult as I can't raise the pipe up enough to get a pipe cutter in there. The hole is right on the joist which is almost 4 inches (100mm) wide so even a 100mm coupler won't do I assume.

Is it possible to repair a hole in a copper pipe?

Thanks guys. If I go for one of these repair couplers (assuming pipe is 15mm diameter) do I then just go buy a pipe cutter and cut out the same length of pipe as the specified coupler e.g. 100mm/75mm etc? Apologies for all the questions just want to get this done asap. Hopefully b&q will stock...

Is it possible to repair a hole in a copper pipe?

The pipe is running perpendicular to the floor joists just below the board level in notch cuts. The hole is right on the joist where the board was screwed down and perhaps only a few mm below the bottom of the board. Is there a picture anyone can link to for what I need to make this repair? The...

Is it possible to repair a hole in a copper pipe?

After noticing a wet patch on my kitchen ceiling I lifted up the bedroom carpet above and lifted some floorboards to find a screw in one of the pipes. I found it odd that this pipe was so close to the board. Anyway I turned off the supply and removed the screw so in need of some advice on how to...

Fitted some spotlights recently in the kitchen and not happy with the shadows they create. I've got 6 in a room sized 3x3.5m. The bulbs I have are 36 degree 50W GU10 mains. I have seen some LED versions on the net made up of SMD's which I know are bright but has anyone here used them or...

Heat rising up into room above water tank - why?

Hi I've noticed today that there is alot of heat being generated in the box room above a water tank which is housed within the house downstairs but accessed by an outside door. It's some kind of storage system linked to the hot water system I'm told that prevents pressure drops. At first I...

    Star Lighting in ceiling

Thanks John I'm planning on keeping the kit attached to the lighting circuit in the loft so that power supply will not have anything else attached to it. I have someone putting in an extractor fan in the bathroom ceiling so will ask if I can get a feed from that possibly.
