ply for flooring - must be WBP?

Ply has arrived. It's ugly, but does say "exterior CC" on the side. Does this mean it's WBP (or equivalent) and therefore OK to use? Thanks!

ply for flooring - must be WBP?

It's arrived. It is UGLY stuff. Orange in colour, and really, rough. However, it does say "Exterior CC" on it. Does this (improbably) mean that it is exterior grade and therefore WBP? Or am I clutching at straws?! Thanks

ply for flooring - must be WBP?

Hi all I've posted this in the flooring forum too so apologies for the double-post, but given the urgency (my order arrives in 10 minutes) I wanted to make sure my question was seen by anybody who works with floors! Apologies to the mods if I'm breaking the rules Bit of an urgent one...

ply for flooring - must be WBP?

Hi all Bit of an urgent one, this. I'm redoing the kitchen floor. Currently, it is old floorboards that are a bit uneven; and a solid floor in the hearth area which covers about 1/3 of the floor. My plan is to: - remove the floorboards, - replace with ply, - check for level against...

    Disappointed with skirting board finish

I agree, although I'm sure from looking at it the OP meant a 50mm gap!

    refinishing dining table and sideboard

Thanks, that's really helpful. I assume that it is exposure to light and air that changes the colour? I took apart one of the drawers and where the side pieces butted up against one another, the wood was considerably "whiter" than the rest of the wood - it was a really obvious line. Either...

    refinishing dining table and sideboard

Thanks both. I didn't realise that the colour would change over time to that degree. When I said "more natural, lighter colour", what I meant was I wanted it to look more like the sort of furniture that is sold today. I assumed that the difference between my (orange) furniture and new (creamy...

    CAD Software - Kitchen Design

This is hugely overkill, but I downloaded a trial version of ArchiCad when I did mine. ArchiCad is seriously powerful and it took me 2 weeks to learn to use it, but it was brilliant once I got the hang of it. I then downloaded a trial of Artlantis rendering software, to create some...

    refinishing dining table and sideboard

Hi all I recently bought a dining table and a sideboard on ebay. It was a bit of an impulse buy: we couldn't really afford to go for new stuff but we needed the furniture, and the pics looked good. I figured that if I had any problems with it I could just sand it down and refinish anyway, so...

Building shed on brick paving - advice please

Hi all Bumping this - does anybody know of any (reliable) companies that supply tanalised sheds at a decent price? I can see some others on eBay but they are based in the same area as this rabble so I am concerned that they are one-and-the-same. Alternatively.... are there any good...

Can I put an oven in front of water pipes?

Thanks all. So it seems I've got nothing to worry about then, and I can just crack on regardless. Thanks.

Advice on hanging kitchen wall units on a dot and dab wall

I have a similar problem. In my case the space between the plasterboard sheets and the wall behind is quite large - about 30-40mm. For the base units I'm actually going to remove the plasterboard and attach the units directly to the wall - I need those few cm to get it all to fit in, and the...

Can I put an oven in front of water pipes?

Hi all I’ve got a quick question on my kitchen design. We are having a tall unit with a double oven in it. I know where I want it to go, but there are currently 3 water pipes that run from floor to ceiling right in the middle of where I want to put it. The pipes are all copper, and quite...

    Does direction matter in plumbing?

Thanks. I've got a plumber but he's not a good one. I paid him to come in earlier this week and disconnect the sink and put it in the garden. He just shut off the isolation valves and unscrewed the waste - he left it all physically connected. Took me about an hour last night to unscrew the nuts...
