    Attaching Ditra Matt to Screed

Hi Vinn, I'll try and get pics the next time I'm there. There was no previous floor covering, they step out of their back door down onto concrete, this is the lean to area, not sure about any DPM below this. I'm almost 100% certain the damp is coming from the poor door fitting. Cheers Mike

    Attaching Ditra Matt to Screed

Hi All, I know it sounds strange but I have been asked to tile my wife's aunts lean to floor! The lean to is of pvc conservatory (about 20 odd years old) type with a screeded floor that they wish to have tiled. They have complained of water coming up through the floor, however I suspect it may...

    Geberit seal leaking again

Sorry, I've literally only just sorted it on Monday - it happens every couple of months so will send you picks then, but they will look exactly like Rich's. Can't see that this is due to the water quality to be honest?

    Gas Portfolio South East London/Kent

Thanks, it would seem that this is a rock and hard place scenario. I don't want to go out there and do jobs without any...

I'm assuming you did things the old fashioned way Tony, as an apprentice - did you not get paid, even if it wasn't much!? Yes I would expect to get something, I have outgoings like everybody else, but I would only expect to get paid my worth. If you think that worth is nothing then thank you...

    Gas Portfolio South East London/Kent

Yeah I can appreciate that. I'm more than happy to stay with them as long as it's tenable, I'm in this for the long term not just to change a couple of taps/radiators and call myself a plumber/heating engineer. I have a bit of experience yes as I have been going out at weekends with my previous...

Tiling shops as there are gas fitters that also install bathrooms - and I have a tiling qualification. I am looking to change careers after redundancy, not looking to earn fortunes, just gain experience and pay some bills.

    Gas Portfolio South East London/Kent

Hi Tony, I fully appreciate what you're saying, and I would think the same thing. As a matter of both principle and the fact that I want to do this through hard work and initiative - I simply want to earn my certification and my own customers, I have no interest in stealing customers...

    Gas Portfolio South East London/Kent

Hi All, Some of you may remember my previous post, in brief....I have recently passed my C&G Professional Tiling Qualification, my C&G Level 2 plumbing and have very recently passed my BPEC Gas Foundation Course. How would you get around this?

If dropping the waste doesn't give you more room to tighten the trap up then it's not the correct trap, there must be a specific one to fit that bath that allows for room under those leg supports. I'd go to Ideal Standard and ask them.

Or pack anything out, it will leak I would have thought

How would you get around this?

Did that trap come specifically for that bath? The answer lies in the trap and the fall of the waste pipe I think, you shouldn't need to re-route the waste.
