Where does the PRV need to go?

Just out of nowhere - to give you something to think about :) I heard and experience myself whining noise from mixer tap before and this was due to issues with shower head. Exchanging shower head resolved it! Enjoy!

Where does the PRV need to go?

I think you should look into getting the cold water and hot water having exactly the same pressure. What's the difference in pressure when measuring? I'd suggest one of the following: PRV on cold and PRV on hot supply set in the same way or one PRV on the mains supply to your property...

    part rewiring

Hi, I'm looking for some advice in getting my flat partially rewired. It has modern fuseboard including RCD (30mA) for bathroom. All the cables in the flat (sockets, lights, etc) are brown, blue, green-yellow and are going up the attic and this is where the mess begins. Got two main...

    bathroom extractor fan

Thanks for this. So if my fan will be in Zone 2, can I use regular voltage one? Re how powerful it is, won't a more powerful fan create draught when being on?

    bathroom extractor fan

Hi, I'm about to get a new extractor fan for my bathroom. Here is something what puzzles me - why to use low voltage extractor fans as oppose to regular voltage ones? Or vice-verse? Second question - my bathroom is very small (around 3m2 and ceiling at 2.4). Will it be wrong to install a...

    bathroom window cill

Thanks for this! No, I'm not going to tile it but it sounds like a good idea. I decided to go for: http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/162755 If it scratches down the (time) line I will simply exchange it as it does not seem like much work at all..

    pedestal and basin

OK, thanks for this.. one more question... I need at least 200mm space in the back of the pedestal once installed. This is to accommodate pipes and their coverings that go along the wall. How do I tell/calculate if a unit (basin + pedestal) will fit my bathroom? (will have at least 200mm...

    LED Lighting in bathroom

Right, I think I will simply go for the bigger version of these: http://www.aico.co.uk/downlights-in-loft-space-what-to-fit.html They seem to provide enough venting space for Halers H2 so I do not have to be worried that insulation is laying on top of it...

    LED Lighting in bathroom

Hi, I'm considering exactly the same thing. Was thinking of getting halogen lights but after reading some threads I think I will go with LED lights. Though, this somehow is pushing me back: http://www.electronicsweekly.com/blogs/led-lights/2009/01/why-can-led-not-yet-rival-halogen.html...

bathroom floor - concrete + pipes under

Hi, This sounds to me a bit tricky. My flat has concrete floors throughout including bathroom which I'm just renovating and dealing with the floor... I found out that my hot water pipe goes under floor in a trough of around 5cm wide. The trough is covered with some kind of sheet 3mm thick...

sds drill bit with regular/hammer drill?

lol :D not gonna try it. Just bought right drill bit. Had a problem with drilling 10-15cm holes (6mm dia)... all drill bits in homebase, b&q etc are only 12cm long or max 15.. unless looking into SDS that are much longer. Went to independent shop and got the right drill bit :) Thanks

plaster disaster - installing bath screen

Hi there, I was just putting some finishing touches to my newly decorated bathroom and installing bath screen on tiled wall. The bath screen is supposed to be fixed using 3 screws (6mm hole) to the wall. I think I overtightened one of the screws and couple of tiles came off the wall along...

sds drill bit with regular/hammer drill?

Hi, I was just wondering - can I use an SDS drill bit on a regular/hammer drill? Or is there something special about SDS drill bits and they will not fit this drill? Thanks,

plaster disaster - installing bath screen

I forgot to add that before putting the filler I sealed the hole and surroundings with PVA (1:3) and waited couple of hours before patching it.

    pedestal and basin

Hi, I'm thinking of exchanging my basin to a single (mixer) tapped one. My current basin sits on a pedestal. Do I have to change the pedestal as well or is there a way to find a sink/basin that fits my current pedestal? Is this anyhow standardised and any basin works with any pedestal?
