Hi,

This sounds to me a bit tricky. My flat has concrete floors throughout including bathroom which I'm just renovating and dealing with the floor...

I found out that my hot water pipe goes under floor in a trough of around 5cm wide. The trough is covered with some kind of sheet 3mm thick that looks to me like asbestos based board.

I hope to get rid of the board as it does not stick properly to the trough and makes the surface uneven.

What other material/board 3mm thick can i use to cover the trough? Once this is done I hope to put vinyl floor on top of it.

The board has to be strong enough so one can step on it. Though knowing that the hole is only 5cm wide I guess there is enough support?

I will try to upload a picture later on.

Thanks
