    Thanks guys - will check bypass but pretty sure its closed I plugged it in and hit the 'regenerate now' button - it seemed to make some grinding noises - didn't see any other options (don't have instructions) Do B&Q sell the hardness kits ?

    Thanks Richard Would it be an idea to leave a bit more - and then put a layer of SLC on top of the concrete to get up to the correct level ? Point noted re. the expansion joint - I think the 2 slabs will join across the middle of a tile so not ideal from that viewpoint :(

    Hi Guys I've made some MDF doors which I need to trim by about 2 or 3mm (I didn't allow quite enough for the gaps on the hinge sides - doh !) Is planing an option ? (Manual plane) or would sanding do it Thanks in advance ps I know about the mask needed :D
