Just bought a dimmer from the local warehouse but on removing the old normal switch I only have a very thin back box. It is only plaster deep, and has brick behind it. Dont want to start chasing into the brick and putting new back box in - does anyone know of any thin/shallow dimmer switches...

Thanks. That might be a bit of a red herring though - as the soil was the same height as the driveway I doubt we'd have noticed it if it was flooded. No matter how heavy it rains, it never seems to flood above the height of the driveway.

Colorfill - its used for worktop joints but they also do wood floor stuff too. Use the floor stuff rather than the kitchen worktop stuff though. Wickes sell it.

Thanks. I've been warned that although the colour is good, it is acrilyc based so the texture doesn't always look right. Not sure what this means. I'll try on a test piece first. They still reckon the best route is to rake it out, but I cant really bring myself to do it if I'm honest.
