    Water main fitting, compression or solder?

    hi, I'm just after a little advice, on my main water pipe in I have 3 soldered joints before a stop cock, so if one of these leaked I would have no way of turning the water off? Should I replace the first soldered joint with a compression fitting tap or should I leave as is? Thanks in advance

    Hi, I have a little problem and not sure what do, I have two mcb with sockets on. One of them does one double plug socket and the rest of the house is on the other, 8 double sockets. Can I move the live into the other mcb and safe to do so? Thanks in advance!

    I have the main supply located in a corner I wish to move this through 90 degrees to the adjacent wall. Can my local sparky do this for me? Help appreicteed

    Sorry I didn't overly explain. I live in a first floor massionette, so it's straight in on the stairs, so that's the only switch that's downstairs. So it's all on the same curcuit, forgot to mention

    Yes it switches from the hall and the landing. Annoyingly the per many live is at the top of the stairs. I was going to replace the 1 gang switch with a 2 gang switch. Run the permanent live into the existing casing along side the switched live

    The neutal goes no where at the monent I would have to put that into the junction box along with the connection to the permanent live

    New light switch wiring

    Thankyou for your help, I can confirm there is a back box and I will earth it as said. The wall had to be plasterboarded and skimmed so the back box now sits about 50mm into to the wall. Thanks

    New light switch wiring

    Hi, sorry for a how do I for my first post but thanks in advance. I'm trying to change over a light switch but can't seem to wire the new one in. The old markings on the one don't match the new at all and I'm a bit lost. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks again
