Wiring outside light onto separate switch

So your downstairs hallway light is on your upstairs lighting circuit? Brilliant design!

If you could forgo the switch for the hall upstairs, you could just link one core from the strapper directly to perm live, one to switch live, make downstairs a one way switch, and then link from there.
 
Sorry I didn't overly explain. I live in a first floor massionette, so it's straight in on the stairs, so that's the only switch that's downstairs. So it's all on the same curcuit, forgot to mention
