    If you complain to the sparks and dont get as satisfactory resolve then small claims threat should work, alternatively are they a member of the NIC ? if so complain to them and then the NIC will have to honour the repairs.

    When you say you replaiced the fitting in your bathroom, can you describe how the wires were in the fitting BEFORE you took it down. All to often as other sparks will agree joe public will replaice a fitting and put all the red wires together and all the black wires together.....WRONG...

    IMO I would fit a single switched socket behind the extractor chimney or just below eyeline above the top of your units, and similarly another single switched socket behind the back of your cooker for the hob ignition

    It could also be that the lampholders have burnt out, or have deteriorated over the years, I regularly replaice them at customers houses, cheaper to replaice that a tranny.

    no problem using the 6mm for the hob, what is the rating of the oven ? You may be ok depending on the rating, a lot of domestic oven only are on 13A pt it all depends on the size.

    2.5 would be no where big enough for the voltage drop as 80m run is a fair distance, without doing the cable calks you would be looking at either a 6 or 10mm cable over that sort of distance.
