    Uneven Concrete Pad

I actually mean both:- At one end of the slab it is flat but is off level by 10mm over 2 metres. It looks like the shutting was not level. At the other end of the slab, there is also a drop of about 10mm over 2 metres, but it is not flat ie the concrete curves (like a small hill) for the...

    Uneven Concrete Pad

Further to my last post. I assume it is reasonable to expect a flat and level base when that is what you sepcify and highlight that it is a hot tub going on it? 10mm over 2metres of non flatness seems like a lot to me - The floor in our garage is absolutely flat and that is a crappy new...

    Uneven Concrete Pad

Appart from finding the time to do it, one of the main reasons I got a professional builder to do it was because I knew it needed to be flat and I have not poured a slab before. In hindsight it seems that as always if you want something done properly you have do do it yourself. I am maybe...

    Uneven Concrete Pad

I have just had a 4" deep concrete pad poured by a local builder for a hot tub. As the pad will be supporting a hot tub which ways about 1900Kg it needs to be flat and level. The builder was awre that it would be used for a hot tub and as such that it needed to be flat. Unfortunately it is...

    Difficulty controlling hot water temperature

I have just fitted a Techflow QT120 twin shower pump in the loft. Before anyone tells me I know Techflow dont recomend it and its not the best place for shower pumps. Initially I thought the problem of poor pressure on the pumped hot side side was down to the pump being installed in the...

Im looking for some long (3.6m or longer) 120mm Taurus MDF skirting. They used to sell it in Wickes but now only sell 2.4m lengths. I live near Coventry - does anyone know anywhere local that supplies this, or somewhere further away who delivers? Thanks

Shower base built with Aquapanel - Not tanked

ive just received a response from Knauf Technical Support:- They did however ask how often the shower would be used, so im guessing they are confident as it will only be used twice daily max. If it was in commercial enviroment such as a Gym shower etc im sure their answer woudl have been...

Shower base built with Aquapanel - Not tanked

Cheers gcol that makes me feel a little better. Im guessing any water that gets past the tiles / epoxy will be minimal and I think it would take quite a bit to then get through the aquapanel, and even then it has to get through some waterproof adhesive which I stuck the aquapanel down to the WBP...

Shower base built with Aquapanel - Not tanked

I think I may have made a bit of a mistake. I finished my on suite bathroom about 2 months ago for which I constructed the shower base myself using 25mm WBP ply and Aquapanel. The walls are constructed with wedi. For some daft reason I thought Aquapanel was waterproof (like wedi) and I now...

    tiling on metal

Im building a wetroom and have fitted an ACO channel drain. The floor is built using 22mm ply overlaid with aquapanel and im just about to 'dress' the junction between the aquapanel and ACO drain. Im doing this with the usual waterproof membrane (from Wedi) which will be set in cementous tile...

    DIY Long flush pipe

t tried things with 40mm solvent weld pipe - fits into flush cone and toilet - tight fit but no leaks. Ive also got a 40mm female compression fitting from Polypipe that I can solvent weld onto the cistern end of the flush pipe for a decent connection to the Cistermiser. Ive done a test flush...

    DIY Long flush pipe

Cheers. I guess 32mm (inside diameter) solvent weld pipe is approx 35mm outside diameter. I will try both 40mm and 32mm solvent weld pipe to see if either / both work ok with the pan / flush cone. Nowing my look 40mm will be too tight and 32mm to loose but we will see. Im gonna buy a cheap...

    DIY Long flush pipe

Thanks for the advice. I dont really want a concealed cistern as this will need an access panel which will ruin the look of the wetroom - even if I use tiles with silicon surround. As far as the flush being to powerfull, im gonna experiment with teh flush pipe in place before I buy the...

    DIY Long flush pipe

Im in the process of buidling a Wetroom and will be putting the toilet Cistern in the loft (Cistermeiser flush master - electronic). I guess it will be like a High level csitern but with Infra red sensor to initiate the flush. The problem I have is that I need a long flush pipe (about...
