    Using my central heating

    Having just started to decorate the hallway and removed the radiator ( bypass one ) the one with no trv on it, am i right in thinking it is still alright to run the central heating should it get cold as long as i always have at least one radiator open at all times.

    Thanks James, as all the rest of the radiators will be running continuously whilst the heating is on is their any need to remove any of the TRV from any radiator.

    Cheers for the quick reply John, i was just a bit uncertain as every where i have checked states that this radiator without the TRV has to be left on all the time for flow round the system.

    Yes the central heating goes off about 11pm but would this have an affect on the lighting, its wired into a seperate MCB for the timer etc. and its gas central heating ?

    Have not asked any neighbours as dont really bother with any of them, lights seem more duller when the gas central heating is on even though the wiring for the boiler timer etc is on a seperate circuit so the electrician said that could be ruled out as the problem. All the family totally agree...

    Still having same problem, had electrician call as i have said and he said everything ok, so what should i do now ??, call our electricity supplier and have them check their side of the meter and will this cost ?     He just checked the voltage whilst oserving the lights, we do not have an immersion only a combi boiler, our shower is not electric, and this problem we have happens without any electrical surge due to the kettle or cooker.

    RF Lighting, yes it only affects the down stairs lighting which are ceiling lights and wall lights which take G9 halogen bulbs whereas upstairs the are the normal pendant light fittings. Stardanny, you say outside light :idea: could it be this but i do not exactly know what your reply means...

    I wonder if this could be our problem as we had a new Hager consumer unit fitted about 6 or 7 years ago and its funny but never thought about it until now but when an upstairs bulb blows the breaker trips but when a downstairs bulb blows the breaker does not trip and its the downstairs lights...

    That is what its like a fixed dull brightness that does not alter but stays constant but like i said it is not always like this as they are sometimes a normal brightness.     We live in a terraced street with an underground supply the lights dont dim but are just dull normal other electrical equipment in use, tele fridge washer etc. Never asked the neighbours if they are affected or not.
