Using my central heating

Having just started to decorate the hallway and removed the radiator ( bypass one ) the one with no trv on it, am i right in thinking it is still alright to run the central heating should it get cold as long as i always have at least one radiator open at all times.

Yep, although you should also have an automatic bypass fitted to the system
 
Any doubts, then unscrew the TRV head off another rad, even when fully open they can still shut off flow when the room is warm, if you unscrew the TRV head off the valve then it is always open properly
