I’ve got new white carcasses for my kitchen and have been supplied black iron on laminate edge stuff for the fronts, so the carcasses aren’t shown through the doors when closed.
Am I supposed to iron this straight into the white carcass edge? Or do I peel the existing white off and then iron...
I’m building a flat roof which spans 4x4.5m
I have been told to use two 8x3 joists to trim out for a roof lantern going in the middle.
What size bolts should be used to bolt these timbers together? Also what spacing?
Thanks!
I’m re-tiling a downstairs cloakroom in my house and need to alter the waste to make boxing it in neater. This is what I’ve come across. The basin waste has a collar thing (not sure what its called) to widen it to 40mm and it is wedged into the soil stack with some electrical tape to make a snug...
Hi I’ve got a single storey extension that now has a roof and windows. I am needing to lay a DPM on the concrete slab ready for 100mm insulation and then screed that will tie in with the lounge that has been knocked in to.
My question is... how do I join the new DPM with the existing house...
I’ve got a DeWalt DWS773 which is not cutting straight. In the upright position when I try to cut a 45 it will be good from one side but miles off the other side. It will cut square when in the centre position.
Any help on how to actually configure this saw would be great I’m sick of it and...
yeah you're correct its been cut, i did wonder about those rafters above the stairs, presumably they were doubled up to give them enough strength? Its a loft conversion that was done about 12 years ago by the previous owner.
So could you all elaborate a bit?
1) yes it can be done.. okay how?
2) re-think where the handrail goes but with no suggestions? It’s really not much of a space to come up with many options
3) home insurance? Can you tell me more?
The room will only be used as an office and not for a bedroom. I doubt it meets any regs as it is, there’s not enough head room on the stairs leading up there etc etc. How would I go about supporting the purlin differently? Thanks
Hi I’m wanting to remove a small stud wall in the loft to put a handrail with spindles instead. I’ve removed some plasterboard and found how the purlin is being supported. Is there any way to support it differently so I could remove the highlighted timber? (Yellow line drawn in the photo) It’s...
A gentleman has tried to break in to my house over night and has damaged one trim on a PVC double glazed window. I have called a local firm to see if I can get a replacement trim but have been told that there are hundreds and it wouldn't be possible.
Does anyone have any advice on how to source...
So that 15mm pipe runs down and under the floor boards, it doesn’t seem to appear outside the house so not sure where it would go to? I see what you mean about the rust on the boiler but t was serviced about 6 months ago
