was supplied with 22mm elbow for return into boiler. One end fits into compression joint on boiler, the other end fits over pipe. End that fits over pipe is not solder ring. How do I go about fitting this. Plumber who is going to connect gas is on holiday at the moment and I would rather have...
ChrisR = Yes I will be installing it in the order that you stated
AdamW = There will be a hatch above pump for access.
But,can pump sit on its side or does it have to be upright?
Have decided to put my pump under floor instead of vertically under boiler. Wife didn't want to look at it when she was in kitchen! This will obviously mean that the pump will be in a horizontal position. When fitting pump this way, does it have to be in an upright postion?
Thanks for letting me know the reason for a flow switch. I'm doing my system in copper. You mention that temperatures in the boiler could cause failure of plastic pipe. I thought the overheat thermostat and thermostat sensor would shut down boiler before this could happen. :?
Lawn is badly covered in moss. Plan to use moss killer then scarify. Will obviously leave large bare patches. A lot of products give different advice when to re-seed. HELP!!!! :?
I thought this forum was about helping people with their diy poblems. Seems to me there are quite a number who know about regs and theory but have probably never had a lot of experience of being a sparks!
Has nothing to do with regs. Just good practice as there is no way to get deep enough to avoid someone putting screw or nail into wall. Probably like me you have been called in to sort such a problem out.
1 - if you are thinking of aquiring a 3ph supply you will probably find that your electricity supplier won't do it in a domestic situation or if industrial will cost you an arm and a leg
2 - get in an expert, people will get hurt:shock:
This is not a recommended way to extend your circuit. Your new outlet should be a continuation of the ring main. Spurs are history! Going horizontal with cables would be ok. but remember they must have some form of protection over the stud (piece of steel plate). :o
Hi simess
Don't think you will be any further forward with the answers given. The intermediate fits in between the 2-way switches. Take a 3-core and earth from your original switch to the first new position. Then take another 3-core and earth from the first new to the second new position...

Have asked a plumber pal (corgi registered) to commision system. He doesn't know what a flow switch does. Just thought I would try and find out. Won't be getting in B.C.. They were in when I put up my extension. They are a pain in the ****.
After months of planning I am about to start installing my heating system.
A mate at work has mentioned that I should install a flow switch. Do not know whether I need this or not as I do not know what its purpose is. He doesn't know either but has one in his system. Am installing conventional...
