Tiling onto newly laid wet screed

I'm looking to bring an exterior concrete area up to the level of a neighbouring section and then tile it. The screed will be 50 / 60mm. Can I simply tile straight onto the new screed rather than waiting for it to dry and using tile glue? If I do, should I add a slurry or a dusting of cement to...

How to increase boiler water pressure?

All sorted - once again, much thanks for your help. With some gentle working the tap eventually turned.

How to increase boiler water pressure?

I’ve popped up in the loft & the expansion vessel I mentioned is disconnected which rules that out. By the immersion heater there is indeed a filling loop together with two other taps with no loop - pictures below. I guess the starting point is the filling loop and attached pressure gauge which...

How to increase boiler water pressure?

When you say cylinder cupboard, do you mean where the immersion heater it? I think I saw a red expansion vessel in the lift which I’ll check out tomorrow. Thanks for all your help - truly appreciated.

How to increase boiler water pressure?

Simply because I was trying to find the filling loop. The only obvious possible (but slightly awkward to access) taps I could see are the red and grey ones in front of the white pipe in one of my original photos above.

How to increase boiler water pressure?

This is above it - not at the house right now & can see the pipes are a bit hidden, so maybe not the ideal photo.

How to increase boiler water pressure?

I’m staying at a friends & their boiler water pressure is scarily low at 0.1 bar! I can’t see how to top it up though & was hoping someone more capable than me may have an idea? The boiler is a Ferroli Modena 25S HE - I’ve attached a picture - the copper pipe to the left of the blue tap exits...

Thanks for that - much appreciated.

Shower tray waste - 90° corner ok?

With a shower tray is it acceptable to use a 90° bend ? I had planned 2 * 45°, however, my stud is bang in the way so a 90° would be an easy fix. That would give me: waste fitting -> 200mm straight run, 90° bend, 2000mm straight run to join main waste pipe. Many thanks.

    Tiling directly into terracotta block?

I'm re-doing a bathroom & after removing the old wall tiles & glue I'm down to the terracotta block wall. Can I tile directly into this or is there some prep work I should be doing first?

Damp patch running length of upstairs bedroom ceiling. Roof issue?

I didn't know you could even get condensation in a loft space! If it was that, how would I go about fixing it? Air brick? Many thanks

Damp patch running length of upstairs bedroom ceiling. Roof issue?

That's a good plan. If it is wet, I assume it's a leak somewhere rather than condensation in the loft though?

Damp patch running length of upstairs bedroom ceiling. Roof issue?

It was immediately following the really bad weather 7 / 10 days ago so it seems likely it's tied to that rather than condensation. Why do you think condensation?

Damp patch running length of upstairs bedroom ceiling. Roof issue?

The loft was re-insulated 12 months ago so possible. Even if that's the case though, how could it be getting wet. Does the ridge seem a reasonable source to you?

Damp patch running length of upstairs bedroom ceiling. Roof issue?

Not sure - would have to take a look....although gut feel no. What's your thinking - that water could be travelling down from the ridge, trapped behind a membrane and then spreading out along roof edge at the eve?

Damp patch running length of upstairs bedroom ceiling. Roof issue?

I've recently has a damp patch appear along the length of a bedroom ceiling by the outside wall (following some bad weather - Peterborough area). A roofing company has come out and recommended the following, but I'm not sure it's right & would appreciate people opinions. They've recommended...

    Drylining 60m2 garage ceiling

Good idea on the LED strips. I haven't planned the layout for the downlights as yet but will definitely consider your idea in the mix. Thanks.

    Drylining 60m2 garage ceiling

It's a garage! There's no insulation to floor, walls or ceiling no windows (just a side door and two opening garage doors) no water no heating basic electrics a bare concrete floor Granted I plan to install a ceiling, add a ping-pong table and a fridge. No doubt they'll look lovely beside my...

    Drylining 60m2 garage ceiling

It turns out Lafarge make a galvanised steel suspended ceiling system designed for beam and block. The + is that rather than having to drill (aside from the rails around the walls) all ceiling fittings are simply hammered between the existing blocks thereby making it much easier.

    Drylining 60m2 garage ceiling

Thanks for the replies. I'll be going with some sort of metal framework for the ceiling. Lafarge also make a good looking one I've become aware of and with fitting that fit between the ceiling blocks - no drilling required, hence even quicker. As for why the downlights....I don't need a 60m2...
